Christmastime is so different for so many of us this year. This isn’t my first year away from my family on Christmas day… That happened last year as I woke up with a fever the day I was supposed to travel. And being cautious and not wanting to get anybody sick, I didn’t head north until after Christmas when I knew I was no longer contagious.
This year it’s the same thing but I’ve known that Christmas wouldn’t be typical months ago. This time the illness I could carry to my family is so much worse than a case of Strep throat. And so, we’re just going to have to play it by ear and we will celebrate Christmas as a family when we feel like we can do so safely. It might be January or it might not happen at all, but we’re going to do our best to be responsible.
Along with this whole mess of COVID and transmission and surges happening from families gathering there’s yet another mess surrounding Christmas.
So many of us have less income during what is the most expensive time of the year. And so I started thinking about activities that can be done to entertain your littles with minimal expense. And that’s when I figured, who doesn’t love a scavenger hunt? Some of my best memories are being dropped off in a neighborhood as a kid with a list of items to find and check off of my list. Running around with my friends searching out stuff? So. Much. Fun.
And so, today I’m sharing a Christmas Scavenger Hunt and it’s so much fun. Download our free Santa’s Holiday Hunt file and print one for each kiddo. Take a stroll or a drive around your neighborhood and let each child check off each of our fun Christmas items.
