When I moved into my first house I was obsessed with the idea of “real” art hanging on my walls. Actual paintings on canvases seemed like the next logical step towards a more grown up design aesthetic. Gone were the posters hung in frames and I spent a lot of time on online looking for paintings I could afford. But GOOD paintings cost GOOD money. And that was something I just didn’t have.
That marked the first time I started making my own artwork to hang on my own walls. Having always been crafty and having taken a LOT of art classes in college studying graphic design I thought it would be easy. But sometimes inspiration can be hard to find. And sometimes your confidence in your art skills just isn’t there.
Back then I didn’t have a blog and I hadn’t even heard of such a thing so I struggled. But these days inspiration is available at the click of a button. How nifty is that? And so today I’m sharing 25 of my very favorite DIY art tutorials I found online this week.
