Lake Life Summer SVG ⋆ Dream a Little Bigger

I grew up in landlocked Oklahoma. And though I had been to the ocean before, by my teen years it was a distant memory. But as a teen growing up a 20 minute drive to Lake Murray, the largest state park in Oklahoma, I knew all about that lake life. I remember lazing in a floating innertube being startled on occasion by a turtle or a snake popping its head out of the water right beside me. And when that happened you really hoped it was a sweet red-eared slider and not a snapping turtle. After all, I’d been warned by more than one old Okie as a kid that a snapping turtle will take a finger clean off! By the way, I love turtles and always pull over to rescue them from roads :)

As an adult I was lucky enough to live a similar drive to South Padre Island and there I fell in love with the salty beach. But these days I am once again much closer to a lake than the beach, with only 3 miles separating my house from Lake Conroe. Because from floating to picnicking to fishing, I’m all about that Lake Life because Beaches be Salty :)
