Yesterday was ALL about coloring and streaming video around here. Well, for me at least. It was all about coaxing me to go on long walks by insisting an extremely urgent need to urinate for the dogs. Ollie would give me a little sprinkle while looking at me because he knows how to play the game. But Carly, man, that dog just refused to do anything. I timed it. I spent 2 hours and 25 minutes yesterday walking around with dogs in the grass or along the street begging them to get something done :) And THIS is why I really, really need a fence ASAP :)
When I wasn’t being pulled around the neighborhood I was watching The OA and coloring up a whole mess of pretty floral things, actually these gorgeous free floral gift tags I’m sharing today. Oh, and if you’re looking for a totally addictive and crazy sci-fi series to get into look at The OA. Half the time I have NO CLUE what is going on and at the end of season 2 I literally Googled “What the f**k OA” because MAN, I did NOT SEE THAT COMING, but I’m hardcore waiting for season 3. And since there was only, like 2 years between 1 and 2, I guess I better buckle in :)
And speaking of not seeing that coming… are you obsessed with the last season of Game of Thrones like I am? Last night I TOTALLY forgot that it was Sunday and at almost 11 at night I remembered that GoT had been on so I quickly loaded up HBO. Dude, I was SO TIRED. I was so ready to go to bed. But I was SO WORRIED that if I didn’t watch it right away I’d accidentally catch a spoiler on Facebook or somewhere and ruin the episode for myself. And that’s a good thing because this morning I totally did. But oh, my goodness, guys, I totally didn’t realize that this episode was AN HOUR AND A HALF LONG when I made this commitment so late at night. And so I stayed up until 12:45 watching my show, well, watching when I wasn’t squinting at the screen BECAUSE IT WAS SO FREAKING DARK, amIright? I get it. It’s night. War is dark. These are bad guys. Everyone’s in a dark place figuratively and literally… but light that business up so that I can kind of see who just died, mkay? Like I took the time to change the dang contrast on my TV y’all. Do you know how to do that? Because I didn’t. And that added another 15 minutes onto this long ass obsession.
Anyway, contrast up I was watching the show while peeking through my fingers because the White Walkers are basically zombies and ZOMBIES TERRIFY ME and THEN THAT ENDING HAPPENED and my favorite character totally showed that I picked the BEST to adore… huzzah! But then, DUDE, it’s almost 1 in the morning and I am freaking AMPED UP because that was a crazy flippin’ ride, right? But it’s late and if I can’t sleep I need to do SOMETHING productive and so I colored. And as I colored in bed through the wee hours of the morning I thought about it and realized that my job is to color pretty things at 12:45 in the morning because I stayed up too late to watch something that made my heart race to the point of preventing sleep. And it’s totally cool because since I’m self-employed adult and I can do whatever I darn well please and get up in the morning whenever the heck I feel like it and DUDE! Life is pretty good right now, right? Aaaaah…. Right!
But before I start talking about another TV show, ’cause that’s where my mind is tonight, let’s just get on with the project, shall we?
Let’s add a little color to our lives with these free, fun and floral gift tags you can use now or save in your gift wrap stash!
For this project you will need:
- Free printable gift tags
- white cardstock
- white cardstock
- printer (I am in LOVE with my HP Envy 4520)
- Tombow Brights Dual Brush Pens (or your choice of marker/map pencils)
- scissors
- baker’s twine or other cord
First up if you haven’t snagged that free print file for the coloring tags grab it here.
To make sure the file prints well without cutting anything off, be sure to select “Fit” under Page Size & Handling and “Portrait” under Orientation. Print as many copies as you need on white cardstock. This freebie has SIX fab floral designs. Cool, right?
Color your tags (or have the littles color them) with markers, map pencils or whatever. Anything with fat tips though, like most crayons, might be a bit more difficult as some aspects of the designs on these are kind of small.
And if you have a cat to help you, great. Get everyone involved :)
Once colored and the paper has had plenty of time to dry, cut out each tag with a little bit of a border around each. Glue them down onto a piece of complementary and colorful stock to help add a just the right amount of thickness to these DIY git tags that mean they won’t get all crazy bent up easily.
Punch out the hole as designated on each tag with a hole punch.
Add baker’s twine or your choice of cord to each tag, making a loop through the hole and an overhand knot at the end of the string.
Repeat for all of your tags and these guys are just waiting for a gorgeous prezzie.
Don’t you just love them? Because I really, really do! And be sure to check back next week because we’ve some more amazing floral coloring files to share with you, too!
