« Shoestaches - Moustaches for your Shoes! »

Do you love moustaches? I do! Would your shoes love to grow a moustache? Mine did!

This DIY is weird - not going to lie - the first response I got was "WTF are you doing over there?" and "Why?" What some might fail to see is that this is fun. Hip hip hooray for fun!

I made two sets - glittery black, 'cause I love glittery 'staches and 'cause it reminds me of Burt Reynolds :) Let me tell ya, that man can rock a moustache. Plus a hot pink with purple edges just to be fun and different.

This project can be whipped out in about 15 minutes per pair - you will need:

Felt, scissors, matching embroidery thread, needle, shoes & laces, your moustache printable.

STEP 1: Print your moustache printable and cut the shape out. Either pin it on dark felt, or trace the shape on lighter felt.

STEP 2: Carefully cut out the moustache shapes. Go around and clean up the edges when you are through.

STEP 3: Measure out the grommets on your tennies and mark where to place loops to draw your laces through. You'll want your loops to be completely within the marks so that your 'stache doesn't get bunchy.

STEP 4 & 5: Cut out some small rectangular shapes that will be hidden on the backside and act as your lace loops. Tack them on with embroidery thread that matches the color of your moustache. Before sewing on the next loop, be sure that your loop as a nice arc to it, so that your laces will easily fit through. Continue sewing on the next loop.

STEP 6 & 7: Run the laces through the back of your moustache and then lace your shoes. Enjoy!

Happiest of Mondays to you - and remember - there is nothing wrong with being weird. At the very least, people will remember you. :)
