It’s 2017 and I’ve found that my style is gearing more and more toward the modest end of the spectrum. I’ve traded in my bikinis for high waisted ones and I’m so not looking back. I mean, they are SO cute and SO comfortable. I kind of went on a binge and now I’ve got quite a few to choose from. I say it’s because we live 20-30 minutes from the beach and so it’s totally necessary to have 5 or 6 bathing suits but in all honesty, they were so cute and I just plain wanted them. And now I’m going to show them to you because I love them even though I’ve only worn them around the house. Especially that mermaid one. I maybe cleaned the kitchen wearing it after it came in the mail. But maybe not.
Aren’t they so stinking cute? And not a single one over $25. Seriously. Rob and I were at Walmart and I was looking around at bathing suits there and I could NOT beat $25 for a suit. And these are well made, the 2 on the ends both go well past my belly button (the one in the middle right up to it) and they all have ruched bottoms to hide any belly business I got going on. Now I’ve gotten a few others that are just okay… one is high waisted but freaking see through in the back, like I want to be modest and cover up my belly but I’m cool with showing off my crack while I walk around? NOPE. These are all Cocoship bathing suits from Amazon and they are all perfect and if I buy more, or rather when I buy more they’re going to be this brand. They’ve got some really cute one piece swim suits and if you’re really modest they even have skirted capri swim bottoms.
But back to modestly cut cropped tees… Since we’re taking a regular shirt and turning it into a cropped top you have the opportunity to cut it however you please. Mine only shows an itty bitty amount of belly when I wear my high rise jeans and a little bit more for my mid-waisted jobbies. Depending on how I feel that day I can show off a little bit of skin at the beach without feeling awkward and inappropriately dressed. It’s perfect!
So head on over to Mom Spark and get the details to make your own (NO SEW – YES!) DIY cropped top adorned with too cute tassels!
