Instructions

  • Tape down your penny onto your stamping block using electrical tape. Leave the center area to be stamped free of tape.
Tape down your penny onto your stamping block.
  • Working left to right (or right to left) stamp the letters LUCKY in the center of the penny. Remove from the block
Since I'm right handed I like to work right to left when stamping rather than left to right.
  • If your penny does not lay flat, turn it over and place it back on the block. Gently tap with a hammer to flatten it.
What do you do if your stamped penny is bowed and doesn't lay flat?
  • If you want to make your stamped letters more visible, fill them in with Sharpie and quickly wipe the excess off of the surface of the penny.
If you want to make your stamped letters more visible you can fill in the letters with a Sharpie permanent marker.
  • Apply a small dot of really strong glue onto the textured side of the bail and allow about 30 seconds (or otherwise according to your package directions) for the glue to become tacky. Apply to the backside of your penny and allow to dry in place for several hours, though overnight is best.
