I don’t know why but for some reason this year I’m not really feeling the Christmas decorating. Maybe it’s because I want to do something different every year and this year I don’t want to spend the money. I’ve had to buy a new computer and now, this week, a new laptop and that business is expensive! Plus the garage, where the trees are is a disaster and I don’t want to dig that mess out. We were able to snag my white tree that I made into a rainbow last year (and heard some incredibly nasty comments from incredibly nasty people about it, geez!) but one of the plastic feet to make it stand up is missing so it’s laying on its side in the guest room floor, currently. How festive, right?!? :)
Perhaps now that Thanksgiving is behind us I can get properly into the spirit but I just don’t know. We’ll see, I suppose.
I did make some awesome Christmas tree decorations out of a handful of yardsticks I grabbed from the paint section at Lowe’s, though. I gotta tell you, I’m really happy with these guys. But since I made them way early in fall I can’t say that I quite remember where they are. But the second I find ’em I’m going to totally put these cuties out.
Want to learn how to make your own? It’s pretty easy and you don’t really need much of anything fancy to accomplish it. Check out the full tutorial over at iLoveToCreate and make some yardstick Christmas trees of your own!
