How to turn a frame into earrings display

June 25, 2017Ama Ryllis

As you may know I like creating jewelry, I also buy some once in awhile…and as you can imagine I have to store them somehow. It’s not easy to find an appropriate display for small earrings. You can put them in a box, but it’s a little messy. I prefer to have them well organized to quickly pick the earrings who match my outfit. If you like having your jewelry well organize, today tutorial is for you. I will show you how to create a convenient earrings display using a frame.

Material you will need:

  • a piece of fabric
  • a small frame (mine is 7×9 inches)
  • some foam
  • a glue gun
  • a pair of scissors

Open the frame a take the glass off.  You won’t need it to make your earrings display.

Cut small strips of foam the same length as the back of the frame. You can place them horizontally or vertically, depends how you want to display your earring holder.

Cut small rectangles of fabric and wrap each piece of foam in it. It’s easier if you first put some glue on one edge of the fabric to attach the foam with, and then wrap the fabric around it. Add some extra glue at the end to close your “fabric roll”.

Make as much rolls as needed to cover the back of the frame. Then glue them one by one and next to each other, on the back of the frame. The rolls must be placed tight enough to be able to hold the earrings studs.

Finally, place the back of the frame into it and put your new display on your vanity or anywhere you like. Now you can organize your earrings by just sliding the studs between fabric rolls.
