I can tell you exactly how many cell phones I’ve had in my lifetime. The first one I got when I was a freshman in college and it was a blue/clear Nokia boxy thing that I thought was the total bees knees. I was absolutely nuts about that thing.
After that I’ve had a handful of phones but not that many, really. Rather than upgrade and upgrade I tend to wear them clean out. I had a Blackberry with a track ball that I taped back together because the little piece of plastic that held the trackball in broke. And I used it like that for ages and ages until I broke and snatched up an iPhone.
Since then I’ve had a Samsung Galaxy that I’m just okay with. And then for the first time EVER I broke my cell phone. I totally jacked that sucker up, too.
I even cut my finger when I messed with the screen thinking, this isn’t really glass, right? Wrong!
And since I am off contract and I’m so up in the air about what kind of phone I want for the long haul, I decided to snap up a cheapie Nokia Lumia 521 for $70 to keep me gabbin’ until I can make up my mind what I want. But when it arrived I realized that my sim card wouldn’t work. I also learned that it would cost me $10 for a new one AND if I decide to go back to a Galaxy I just might have to buy another card at $10. What a rip off!
So instead I purchased a Sim card cutter and took matters into my own hands and saved myself $3 but potentially $13!
To trim your SIM card you’ll need:
So here’s the thing you’ll be getting. They cost around $6-7.
And here is what it looks like outside of the package. Like a stapler or something.
Remove your old card from your phone (the standard sim card).
And place it in the cutter where you can see the gold info bits through the hole. Prepare to squeeze that sucker and trim a sim card up right.
And presto! You have a new mini sim card and you saved yourself 3-4 bucks!
Plus you have a whole mess of these things that will turn your newly cut mini sim back into a regular sim card should the need arise!
And now I’m carrying a phone that isn’t totally jacked up and trying to slice up my index fingers. Yay!Written by Allison Murray - Visit Website
