Tetris Magnet DIY in Crafted Issue 3

May 22, 2013Allison Murray

So a while back ago one of my favorite crafty bloggers, Dom from Crafted, asked if I would like to contribute to her magazine, also called Crafted. I jumped at the chance to be included and worked up these fun, Tetris fridge magnets. You can download this awesome craft mag here for free.

Now these were first going to be shrinky dink Tetris magnets but they just kept curling up something wicked on me. Online searches had me dusting the pieces with baby powder, keep a knitting needle on hand to beat the forms back into a flat submission, waiting out the curl that I was promised would inevitably flatten out (but just kept on curlin’). I went  through two packages before I deemed the project a craft fail and went back to brainstorming. The final product wound up being printed at Kinko’s on cardstock (my printer can’t take it)and in the end it may very well be for the best.

Over in the mag you’ll see a quick DIY and be able to download the Tetris files to get yours going. Plus there are tons of other projects from crafty bloggers from all over the world (Dom is from Austrailia!) Oh, and there’s also an interview with yours truly if you’re so inclined. Head on over and get your free digital copy of Crafted Issue 3 now!

Girl, you are a great interviewee! I love how honest and real you are in interviews; and how I learn new things about you at every turn. Congrats on the stellar interview and on this exciting project feature!

Thanks, Lauren! I went back and read it to make sure that I didn't say something totally embarrassing. I've decided that the way to go is to answer the questions I'm given and don't turn back. Anything less would be me editing the honesty right out of it! :)
