This is a sponsored post brought to you from Tom’s of Maine through my participation in the Tom’s of Maine Goodness Circle. For this post I was provided compensation. All thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own.
One year Rob gave me the prettiest red cashmere sweater that I have never, ever worn. In fact, I am not even sure where that darn thing is. It was 2 sizes too small and he couldn’t find the receipt to return it so I just kept it and, apparently, lost it. So this last Christmas he wanted to know EXACTLY what I wanted and so I went onto his phone, found the item, added it to the cart and then handed the phone back over.
And then 4 or 5 days later, we were watching my more than slightly irked cat chase after my brand new robot vacuum as it cleaned up all of our detris. And I must tell you, it is just the most fab little thing and it is so USEFUL and PRACTICAL and now I don’t have to sweep the house everyday because my little robot does it for me. And I’m highly entertained watching it zip around the floor and I think it’s pretty awesome when he decides to go back home to his dock to recharge. I say HIM because I named HIM Dustin because he’s busy dustin’ my floors, haha!
I have to tell you I’m that person that pretty much always requests something useful or practical when asked. My grandmother has gifted me sheets the last few birthdays and for years she gave me socks and panties because that is what I asked for. See? Practical.
Today I’m sharing a whole list of things to stuff stockings and lots of them are practical and totally useful. And we’re starting off what has always been the basis of my stockings for as long as I can remember… Toiletries…
Toiletries. Toothpaste, soaps, perfume, lotions and the like make super useful gifts and if might I suggest some goodies like toothpaste, mouthwash and soaps from Tom’s of Maine? (also see the mini stockings I stuffed with Tom’s of Maine Goodies!)
Tech accessories. Everybody needs a new phone charger every once in a while!
Small but useful items. Think little tape measures, small pocket knives, a handbag hanger for tables, mini flashlights and the like.
Kitchen items. Gadgets like timers or meat thermometers are great for a budding cook.
Clothing that gets worn out like socks, undies or might get lost between seasons like mittens or a scarf.
Small notepads. These things are ridiculously handy and kept in a purse, console of the car or backpack always get used!
Desktop tech items. Once I got a new computer mouse which was fab because I didn’t realize how old and slow mine had gotten until I switched!
Emergency kit. This can be a pre-made kit for the car for new drivers, a sewing kit for the crafty or first aid kit for absolutely anybody!
Oranges, apples and nuts. This isn’t just something that will get used, it’s also tradition.
New toothbrushes for the year. One year I got some awesome bamboo toothbrushes and they were such a great little gift!
Shoelaces. Might seem kind of out there but they fit well in a stocking and everybody’s laces get ratty over time.
School supplies. Pens, pencils, erasers… all of these have always appeared in my stockings as a kid and I LOVED busing them out when I went back to school come January!
