I’ve spent the last 5 weeks with my parents and my nephews which has been pretty darn crazy. You see, I’m pretty isolated in where I live and I spend A LOT of time alone. AND I like it that way. Waking up with the head of a seven year old in my arm pit was unsettling to me. In fact, I started locking my door. And then I had to listen to the door knob turn like in a horror movie for about 5 minutes every morning until the kid got the deal… Auntie A sleeps alone.
It’s not that I don’t love kids. I do. I just like them in moderation, I guess. And 5 weeks is the longest I’ve ever spent with two little ones running around. It just reinforced in my world that 5 weeks really, truly is a ton of time. I learned a few things… kids will cheer you up when you’re down and they are there for everything. Good or bad the’re going to be there. So whenever I got sick, I had two concerned little faces asking me if I was okay and when I purchased a box of new treats, I had two eager faces ready to taste test right along with me (along with two bigger faces – my parents!).
I purchased a few boxes of new STARBURST™ Brand Sorbet Bar knowing good and well that I’d have to share. But, heck, with four in a box it wasn’t that big of a deal :) Very first bite, I already know that I’m a fan and ask around. Little man next to me states “it’s good enough to be bad for.” Um, what? Did you just make up a totally awesome little slogan for my upcoming STARBURST™ Brand Sorbet Bar post?! Oh, heck yes he did! And so as a family we noshed and we sat there and brainstormed ways you’d be bad to get a tasty STARBURST™ frozen treat and here they are in no particular order and acted out by said little ones…
You just might have to sneak off so you don’t have to share the last one you snagged out of the freezer.
Or if your cover is blown, you just might have to use your size to your advantage.
There’s always the option of the old fashioned fit.
And last of all, you might need to climb up a tree so you can be just out of the adult’s reach enjoying your dessert before dinner!
But all joking aside, these bars are really, really tasty. AND they taste just like the strawberry STARBURST™ you get out of the package. Yep, JUST like the candy! AND they’re only 70 calories a pop. And after looking at some of the 100 calorie packages of food that are around, I’ll take a sorbet bar every time and save a good 30 calories! Over the course of a few weeks we went through a good 3 or 4 boxes and while some treats we buy the adults sample and leave to the kids, in this case the adults were noshing on them like crazy!
The bars are light and tasty and made for a great little refresher after working outside in the hot, humid awfulness that Houston, Texas is known for. And at only $3.99 for a four pack it’s a reasonably priced treat that you can keep in your fridge all year long. But if you are out and about, you can find them at lots and lots of convenience stores for around a buck fifty! So the next time your filling that car up with gas or trolling the grocery store, grab a STARBURST™ sorbet pop or 4.
If you love the candy, I swear you’ll love them. I mean, the company that also makes Snickers ice cream bars (OMG) just can’t be wrong! But don’t just take my word for it! Enter to win two free boxes for free on me! Well, coupons for 2 free boxes as I don’t know that the bars themselves would ship all that well :)
