I loved playing with a flashlight when I was a kid. I’m pretty sure my dad had to keep extras just because I’d walk off with them. The first time I realized how cool flashlights were was because of my Aunt Lisa. We were on one of the twin sized water beds (yay 80s!) and she was showing me how the flashlight would GLOW THROUGH HER HAND!
I probably sat there for hours after she left looking at my hand glowing. It was amazing.
I got to where I liked to do shadow puppets but I was never very good. My dog looked terrible and I’d get confused and start moving my hands in a way that was incredibly not dog-like. Now if I cut something out and tacked it onto the flashlight, well that was something else entirely.
So today, over at Mom Spark I’m going to give you some free Silhouette cut files (or image files to cut by hand) of three super nifty, spooky shadows for Halloween that you’ll stick right on the end of your handy, dandy flashlight. Just be prepared to have an extra one or two in the house after you show the kiddos how cool something so low tech can be! Halloween Flashlight Fun!
