Sock to Clasp Pouch

Wow guys, it has been a crazy week in my neck of the woods and here at DALB but it’s good to be back up and running so let’s get straight to today’s tutorial.
I wear my socks until they literally have holes in them BUT I designed this project for those who might want to reuse old socks into something new. If you’re hard on your socks like I am you can pick up a cheap pair at Joann’s (where you can also get all the other supplies so its pretty convenient.)

  • Sock
  • Purse Clasp
  • Thread
  •  Scissors
  • Needle

Step 1: Cut your sock about a 1/3 in. taller than where you want the design to begin.

Step 2: Open up your clasp so it forms a circle.

Stick your sock in the center so the cut edge of the sock touches the rim of the clasp.

Step 3: Thread your needle and starting on one side of the clasp begin sewing around the top of the sock through the holes.

I folded the top of my fabric over and sewed through both layers, which tidied up my edges nicely.

Now you have a little expandable pouch of your own! I am torn with what to do with mine. I could keep glasses, D&D dice, or my iPod in it. I’m just going to have to make more!

If you like this tutorial you may also enjoy my Binder Pencil Pouch or my Comfy Camera Strap.

Til Next Time!
