Refashioning 101: The Wardrobe Audit
Are your closet and dresser overflowing but you feel you have nothing to wear? A good old fashioned clothing sorting party just may be the answer to your lack of wearable gear!
Grab my four simple steps behind Refashioning 101: The Wardrobe Audit and start the new year off with fabulous sustainable style that you’ll actually love to wear!
Step One: Put together your fave outfit from each of the following categories and be sure to include accessories and footwear:
Work/Daytime – A Night Out – Running Errands/Casual – Fancy Schmancy
Hooray! You’ve just determined the unique-to-you style that makes you feel great! (+ you have 4 fab fashion examples you love to refer back to as you sift through the rest of your wardrobe)
Step Two: Throw open your closet doors and dresser drawers and get sorting into these four categories:
Incorrect size – Worn out – Not feeling it at all – Unworn for 6 – 12 months
Anything not belonging in one of the above piles can remain in your wardrobe, yay!
Step Three: Have another sort through the four piles and decide what you’d like to do with those unneeded items:
Give away or swap with family & friends – Donate to charity and thrift shops – Add to your crafty
Step Four: Use your fave outfits from step one as your personal style template to create new looks from your audited closet. Now that you’ve figured out the styles that you love best you can easily add to your unique wardrobe with fantastically sustainable items from your fave thrift shop!
