Rainbow Scallop Slip-Ons

School is great because it gives me a reason to wear more of my wardrobe than just pajamas and my work uniform. I always like to plan out my first day of school outfit and I decided I needed to add a DIY flair to that outfit. Since I’m on the blog that rocks the crafted shoe (Shoesday Tuesday anyone?) I figured this would be a great place to start!

  • A pair of canvas slip-ons
  • Painters tape
  • Fabric mod-podge
  • Foam brush
  • Scissors
  • Rainbow scallop fabric (from Joann’s Doodle collection)
  • 1/8th in. Black folded bias tape
  • Clothes pins

Step 1: Lay a rectangle of your fabric on top of your shoe and cut out the shape of your shoe.

Use the beginning of your rubber tread as a guide.

Step 2: Once you have your shoe shape cut out of fabric, mod podge it firmly to your shoe.

Step 3: I thought the tops needed to look a little more finished so I added some bias tape. I used mod podge to apply this as well.
Hold in place with clothes pins!

When you’re all done, your shoe will look something like this. Wear your cute shoes to gain awesome friends on the first day of school!

Pretty adorable if you ask me! My only issue with these shoes is that they’re a little shiny because there isn’t a matte version of fabric modge podge but that’s a small nitpick. Kick it in style when you head back to school with these rainbow slide-ons!
