I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity with #CollectiveBias to brighten my grin into one of those amazing #OpticSmiles! Though I have been compensated for my time, all poorly taken selfies and words are 100% my own! Check my journey out…
I have been obsessed with the idea of white teeth since I was in the fifth grade. And I can tell you exactly why I have been obsessed since then. On a school field trip to my teacher’s son’s dentist office he asked all of us students to smile. I was excited because after looking us all over he selected me to be his demonstrator and have my teeth cleaned in front of the class.
Now I had always loved having my teeth cleaned at the dentist and do to this very day. There is nothing like that run your tongue over your teeth to be greeted by smooth, clean teeth. Check out fifth grade me below with a super tan from swimming constantly!
I get up in the chair smiling until he starts to explain to the class that my poor dental hygiene caused me to have stained teeth. And that if I brushed regularly I wouldn’t have teeth that were discolored. But the thing was I have always been very concerned about brushing my teeth. Who wants nasty breath all day? He shamed me in front of classmates I had only known a few weeks. I was the new kid in town with a muck mouth. It is the only time I remember being truly mortified as a kid. But what Dr. Jerksalot didn’t realize is that my teeth were discolored but for health reasons I don’t really understand dealing with antibiotics as a child.
That’s probably why I am so concerned that my teeth look pretty and clean all of the time. I never want somebody to see my smile and think that I don’t take care of myself. So every time I go to the dentist I ask if this time they will whiten my teeth. I keep getting a response of “no” because my teeth aren’t discolored enough it would be worth the pain. Because apparently getting your teeth whitened at the dentist hurts. A friend with a gorgeously bright smile that he could only grimace out and a bottle of pain pills after a session are proof to that fact.
So when I heard about Colgate® Optic White® Express White I was instantly intrigued. Whiter teeth in only 3 days seemed absolutely impossible. Or as Vizzini of Princess Bride would say “inconceivable!” But I’ve also got to tell you that I will try just about everything that pops up in the stores because it just might be that one thing that give me the whiter teeth I’m looking for.
I ran to Walmart where you can find anything and everything and found my Colgate® Optic White® Express White toothpaste conveniently situated on the end cap of the toothpaste aisle. I snatched my tube up (the standing box for the super fast 3 day treatment) and ran around buying all manner of things including (but not limited to) crawfish, new dishes, detergent and a ton of fruit because I totally dig fruit when I’m not totally digging chocolate.
Now first off I feel like I need to defend my meager but not totally terrible photography skills and let you know that mirror selfies are stupid difficult. Granted, I’m not much of an expert by any means with these having been, oh, probably my 4th, 5th, and 6th selfies ever.
See, it’s stupid difficult. Out of probably 40 I only got one or two that would work, and I’m being generous with that!
I didn’t have the highest hopes because things don’t always work out as well as we hope. Or as well as things are construed to work on TV. But if it made any kind of improvement toward whiter teeth I was going to chalk this one up as a win.
Now here is what I noticed… the tube is very shiny. Like reflect sunlight like crazy kind of shiny. And I don’t care for the taste much but I brushed for a good few minutes just as I normally would and the first thing I noticed was just how clean my mouth felt. Like just had a cleaning slick teeth which is fab because I’ve been aching for a cleaning but don’t go in for another few weeks. I didn’t expect to see any difference but I did. It was slight but it was there. And I decided that even if this is what I got I was in love with this toothpaste just for the very clean feeling I was currently rocking.
But flash forward 3 days of regular use and kapow if my teeth aren’t actually, visibly, noticeably whiter! Any hopes I had were exceeded and surpassed. Who was that girl with the not so white teeth back in the fifth grade? Not this girl, that’s for sure!
So what’s up with me and Colgate® Optic White® Express White? I like it and I’ll keep using it. I feel like I had better results than I have with just about anything I’ve tried AND it only took 3 days, though I noticed a difference as early as the first day – woot! Plus my teeth feel crazy clean which is a super big plus. Lastly Colgate® Optic White® Express White and Optic White® Sparkling Mint toothpaste have twice as much of the recommended whitening ingredient PLUS hydrogen peroxide and when used with normal brushing does its work all that much more quickly.
So if you want whiter teeth, check it out. I think you’ll be happy to be one of those brilliant Optic Smiles! If you want to learn how to take awesome selfies, go somewhere else!Written by Allison Murray - Visit Website
