Have you ever wanted an accessory that you didn’t have in your wardrobe for an outfit you were wearing RIGHT THEN? I’ve done that all of the time. I’ll be getting dressed and think about how awesome my outfit would be only if I bought XYZ item instead of passing it up. OR I’ll think that this would be perfect only if I had a scarf in the right color or shoes that matched better or whatever.

So I thought that I’d work out a little scarf tutorial that would take practically no time at all. I mean, this scarf right here will only take you about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast your scissorin’ hand is and that’s totally doable for outfit updating on the fly if you ask me!

Oh, and just so you know and on a totally unrelated note, neon is ridiculously difficult to photograph. Does anybody know why or how to fix it? Seriously feel free to email me  because it was so hard!

For this project you will need:

Take your tee shirt and cut off the hem at the bottom and just below the armpits. Try to make your cuts as straight as possible and feel free to get after it with a ruler if you’re like me about these things.

Snip your first bit of fringe to the length you like. Next take your ruler and marker and run down the scarf a line to follow when trimming your fringe.

Now cut your fringe out by making snips down the fabric and up to the line you have drawn (or eyeball it if you like to live dangerously). Then come through and snip away the fabric in between every other cut to make your fringe. Magic!

Stretch the business out of the scarf and it’s ready to wear. And if you’re wondering how I stretch mine, I place it on my feet and pull up toward myself. It does the job and doubles as a decent workout!

There she is! I was kind of timid when working out my fringe for this first go, but I think I need a hot pink one with super long fringe!

So cute! I love the colour – neon is so great for Summer! Also, I agree that it’s crazy hard to photograph neon! I just recently made some neon pink magnets and they all looked orange! So weird…
