Tea is my bag. I totally, absolutely and completely adore tea. From black pekoe to green to peppermint there is a place in my heart (and my belly) for just about any tea you can find under the sun.
When I was a kid, one of the greatest things in the world was when the sun tea was ready. Did your family ever do that? I’d be playing out in the hot summer sun and every once and a while take a peek over onto the cellar door at the glass canister (maybe with cactuses or something all over the glass) to see what color it was. At first it would be clear because that’s just the way it is. And it would never fail that just a few minutes later I’d be poking my head around the tree I was in or whatever was going down to see, is it done yet?
When my Mimmie would walk over and snatch it up, I was one of the FIRST people in that house getting my cup of ice ready (right beside my Poppa). Let me tell you guys, there are a whole lot of really good and amazing things to enjoy in this life. And if you have ever lived in the south or over Oklahoma and Texas way you know about the joy that can be found in the iced down glass of fresh sun tea.
As an adult I’m still totally into tea. I was once teased that I will go all of the way to a coffee house to purchase very expensive tea. “Why not coffee?” I don’t want coffee I want tea. “But why come to a coffee house to get coffee? It’s like going to the Mexican restaurant and ordering a hamburger?” So.
Which brings me on to today in a slow and terribly roundabout way. You may or may not remember that I am a contributor over at Inspired Home for International Housewares Association (IHA). Well, I’m pretty excited because my new post is live and ready for your pretty little peepers. And guess what? It’s all about tea! (shocker I know!) Specifically it’s all about how to make a great cup of tea because in 2015 I totally want to drink better tea. So, you down with tea? Head on over to Inspired Home to get the details on better tea in 2015!
