Long-held Traditions… Class Rings #ringspiration

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jostens for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Jewelry has never really been my thing. In fact, when I wear jewelry it’s because it means something very important, someone very special gave it to me or I’m in a situation where I need to feel more grown up (this often means I also have to get out of my comfy pants and into some decent about town clothes… maybe even a dress.)

And I can list on one hand all of the jewelry I’ve ever owned that has meant something to me.

MY LATEST VIDEOS
MY LATEST VIDEOS
  1. A diamond tennis bracelet my Mimmie gave me for my 18th birthday.
  2. My Poppa’s Amaco service award watch that was handed to me after his funeral.
  3. A floating pink pearl necklace I was given as a gift in celebration of my first adult job.
  4. My black stone set in gold 1998 class ring.

Now of all of those listed above only one I had a hand in choosing for myself. All of the others were gifts given to me. And I still remember that day I got the catalog/brochure to take home with me. I don’t know how many times I went over and over that book looking at all of the options and colors and trying to figure out which was the most me.

Now that I’m in my 30s and I get to see young people all around me growing up I find myself often giving advice. I tell the kids I know the things I think will help them out in their future, I tell them the things I wish someone would have told me and I do my best to not be condescending. Sometimes it’s to explain why other kids don’t care for a tattletale and other times it’s to go back to school shopping and spend tireless hours in the dressing room picking out the perfect pair of jeans for that very first day.

One of the things I’m most excited to help out with is shopping for those class rings by Jostens. And things are way different than they were back in good ol’ ’98. I had to pick and choose my selections and when my ring did arrive, I wasn’t exactly sure how it was going to look. But these days it’s all internet and online personalization isn’t it and you have a much better idea of what you’ll be getting in the end.

One look online at Jostens class rings and it’s pretty amazing. There are the old school styles that you wear and your parents wear and there are more modern versions that are just perfect for today’s stylish girls! Look at that beauty up there… The dazzling Cushion ring from Jostens is a ring any girl could wear highschool through the rest of life. So pretty!

Whether you’re parent, aunt or family friend, you can get involved with those teens and help them choose their class ring. Because you know just what tradition that ring stands for!

Hey! So I see the picture of your purple jostens ring, and I just wanted to know specifically which stone it is, because it is BEAUTIFUL. And it’s just a sterling silver?

Thanks! I can’t wait to get my class rings next fall!

Hey, Olivia! I think that it’s the February amethyst with white gold but I’m not 100% positive. It could be the amethyst (there are 2 different types). :)
