To be honest I can’t think of much to say here today. Russell and I went out to do our weekly shopping and as it turned out things were nuts. Nuts I tell ya! Here in Oklahoma whenever the weatherman says “bad weather” we go running and screaming to the supermarket to stock up on beef jerky and bottled water. We left this morning and didn’t get back until after dark and we only went to Hobby Lobby and two grocery stores. Well, we also went to Baskin Robbins but STILL – all freaking day!
And at the grocery store I got gluten free corn dogs and all I can think about RIGHT NOW is getting in that kitchen and whipping me up some. But they’re just corn dogs. Yeah, but when asked I would tell people that corn dogs were my favorite food. They’d give me a weird look and wonder how an adult lady can be so into a cornbread covered weenie on a stick. But I am. And I haven’t had a corn dog in years, well, since being diagnosed Celiac- so I’m just going to these features and have some supper. Corn dog. Corn dog. Corn dog.
Oh, and I’m trying to do the whole Hometalk thing. If you’re on there give me a shout and we can friend each other or whatever you do on that particular social network!
Oh again, if you’re down to co-host this awesome party (or want to do a test drive before starting your own), contact any one of us and we’ll get the ball rolling (in other words we’ll ask Amy to get everything squared away with you :)

Now if the subject of your craft project is a cat, chances are it’s going to be featured. Anything with a cat is awesome. Now this crochet cat curtain from Howling at the Moon is SUPER awesome! This wonderful bit of crafty goodness is kind of an homage to her pretty black kitty, Sjakie.

Now I first saw a rug very similar to this one at West Elm and I thought it was awesome but waaay too expensive ($499). Like two days later I see a pin of this very rug on Pinterest and it said something like “make your own West Elm inspired rug for $25 with SHARPIES!” You HAVE to click over when you see something like that even if it’s to be like “you totally jacked that rug up, didn’t you?” And to be honest, I thought the pic in the pin was the West Elm version. But it turns out that Katie from Upcycled Treasures really did make one totally awesome rug very, very similar but, oh, about 570 bucks less. So awesome! And, just so you know, I’m totally nuts about this blog right now…
I have this thing where I have lots and lots of vinyl records. Back before the blog I liked to take them and bake them and make bowls out of them. And since I have quite a stash, still, I think that this a genius way to repurpose that old and unlistenable vinyl into something useful and organizational. P.S. Doesn’t that look like something you’d totally grab in 5 different colors from IKEA? LOVE Ikea! Head on over to Hearts and Sharts (seriously :) to get the full and totally awesome DIY!
It’s a moose shaped astroturf rug!!! This is so unique and awesome! I totally love when somebody just makes something that you’d never think of in a million years! This moose head shaped rug is perfect for wiping off dirty tootsies, and extra bonus, this crafty lady’s guy is named moose :) Check out the full DIY over at Lip Gloss and Lumber.
And I can’t forget to say thanks to an awesome co-host last week!
Thanks so much for co-hosting, Laura!
Oh, and I just can’t help it! I have three honorable mentions, too!
And don’t forget… you have FOUR TIMES the potential for comment love, social shares and featured favorites this coming Sunday, so link up!!! And be sure to share the love with your friends! Grab the buttons below to show you’ve been featured or that you proudly link up! Share the love, grab a button! The RULES – because I took the time to write ’em up:
- Link anything you made yourself but nothing that is available for sale. (you don’t have to have a blog or site just leave that bit empty or link up your Facebook profile, etc.)
- Link back to Dream a Little Bigger to be considered for next week’s feature roundup! (you can grab that awesome button up there – hubba hubba!)
- Click through one or two of your favorite links and leave some comment love!
- Entries are randomly placed so that everyone gets top billing. I HATE when I get to a party late and my links get stuck somewhere in the middle! Well, that’s not gonna happen here, folks!
