Scratch card art is just plain awesome. Kids love it and I love it. So today I’ve got a real quick tutorial on how to get some scratch card art going with your little ones.
For this project you will need:
- black tempera paint
- dish washing soap (not for the dishwasher)
Give your kids cardstock. Either cut into manageable sizes (these are a regular piece of paper cut into half) or just give them whole pieces. Results are best when the whole area is covered!
Mix a few drops of dish washing liquid into about two tablespoons of paint. Using a bristled brush, brush the paint over the crayon background. The first coat is going to be thin and you’ll see the crayon through. Allow to dry and apply another coat until the black is solid.
Use something sharp, like a nail, to sketch out little pictures that will be in amazing technicolor!
