Inexpensive Essential Oil Storage
I’ve gotten in this nasty little habit of losing things and if I’m not careful it’s gonna lead me right on down to the point that I lose my mind. Okay, so perhaps that’s a bit melodramatic but I do have these insane little wig-outs when I can’t find what I need to find. And sometimes I wind up having to buy the same thing over again and that, my friends, is simply a total waste of money.
You see things have been crazy around here. I know, I know, that’s a phrase I’m constantly using. But truly, it’s often freaking crazy around here… Case in point:
That is what my house literally looked like for 2 days. It was so bad that I felt the need to document it in a panoramic photo.
Trying to meet a tight deadline due to a bit of procrastination on my part I had to quickly make a video for a client. And in the heat of the moment (a.k.a. work induced panic attack) I’d toss things here and there until we had the disaster you see before you. Really. Crazy.
I get into this frenzied state fairly often and that’s how I lost all of my essential oils one day. It was like, POOF, they’re all gone! When I finally found them I decided it was time to get this nonsense under control. I mean, I keep buying the same stuff over and over and over and, again, SUCH a waste of money. I have 4 bottles of tea tree oil , 4 bottles of lavender, 2 of peppermint and 2 bottles of jasmine all because I needed but couldn’t find it for a project. Isn’t that silly?
When I saw these essential oil storage boxes for 20-ish bucks I flipped out and instantly ordered one. They hold 25 bottles of essential oils sized between 5-15 ml in size. The box is made of sturdy wood with a metal clasp that isn’t made of steel or anyting but does a good job of keeping the box securely closed.
The box also comes with a bag of droppers and a few sheets of round labels. You place the stickers on top of the bottle lids so they can be easily identified without having to pull random oils out of the box to find what you need. Now, I found the little stickers that came with this box to be severely lacking. I mean, there was no sticker for tea tree oil. Seriously? That’s a pretty common oil, amIright?
But as far as the box goes itself, it’s amazing. I filled up my first box and immediately got online and ordered a second. But with this box I ordered a separate set of easy to identify essential oil stickers. In this set I found that it had almost everything I needed printed up and ready to be plopped on top of my bottles. And for the weird blends I have, there were blanks that I can fill out myself.
Now I keep the boxes on top of a shelf and they are super easy to get to when I’m in the heat of a crafting moment :) Whenever I find an oil in a totally random and strange place I grab my stickers and get it marked and plop it in the box so I can easily find it next time. Bing, bang, boom. Killing it.
So if you, like me, have a hard time keeping up with these little bottles of essential oil, or if you just want to be able to easily and quickly identify and grab your oils as you work, I simply cannot recommend these essential oil storage boxes more! Huzzah!
