I’m Curious – What’s Up with Laser Hair Removal?

August 12, 2014Allison Murray

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ideal Image for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don't often talk about body hair here on the ol' blog – or really maybe I never have. It's not like I'm going to craft with body hair or anything because that would be super creepy and just plain wrong and I'm surprised I even thought of it now!

So let's get the reason for this post out of the way, shall we? Only in recent history has removing body hair been important to people and I am one that can't really imagine it any other way. If I wear a nightgown to bed I HAVE TO shave my legs. Those bristles will drive me nuts all night long if I don't. And I haven't shaved my underarms in almost 3 years, but only because I started using an epilator (which can be crazy painful but since I only have to use it about once a week anymore it's the way I go).

And as I've gotten older I've developed PCOS I get the occasional facial bristle which is crazy embarrasing. It's something I have only discussed with my doctor and we're not going to get all up in this topic today, either. But I have to tell you, when I was watching Orange Is the New  Black (which I am woefully behind on watching BTW) and Piper is discussing "Spike" her facial  hair that she and her fiancee named I felt better. Because I'm definitely not the only one that has this and while I'm not rocking a beard or anything I'm super sensitive about anyone seeing my hairy knees, too.

All of this has really had me thinking about laser hair removal in earnest. Because righ now I just pluck what I see when I see it and it's become a daily task just to be sure that I'm not talking to a stranger with a two inch black thing  hanging off of my chin and not even know it. I mean, with laser hair removal all of that would be over, right?

Plus this past summer with swimming and theme parks and whatnot it really hit me that not having to shave my legs every day would be pretty darn awesome, too. So let's see, 1 – I wouldn't have to shave every day 2- I could be more confident and not worried about crazy stray hairs 3 – it would be a nice gift to myself and I don't often treat myself to things.

And then I heard from Ideal Image Laser Hair Removal that they were having 70% off Laser Hair Removal and it really, really got me thinking. I don't know how much these treatments cost but I've worried they might be out of my budget. But maybe it would totally be worth it? And for 70% off I can give it a go and just see how it works out. Because it it saves me from having to pluck my brows every few days, well, that's already going to be worth it!

And so I'm kind of nervous but really excited because later this week I'm going to go on a consultation and just see what all of this business is about. And I'll get to see if laser hair removal is for me without having to spend a penny because the consultation is free.

So, if you're like me and wondering about laser hair removal why not request more information? And be sure to keep your eyes peeled because I'm going to give you the downlow on how my consultation went! Because if you're like me, you're a bit nervous about all of this so I'll do the research and give you all the details I can!

I can use an epilator on my legs, but I want to cry if I try using it on my underarms. I actually want to start using it again because I started shaving again because it was just easier to quickly do in the shower.

The epilator really hurts along my shin bones. I used it on my legs for a few months when it was new before I just gave up on it. But I LOVE that I don’t get ingrown hair in my underarms anymore so that makes it 100% worth it for me :)

I do not think I have laughed this hard in a long, long, long time!!! OMG!!! As hard as I am laughing at your post this body hair thing can and is a huge problem especially in the summer, public beach time, public pool time, etc., really just wearing less clothing or not covering up as much. My daughter had laser hair removal done and even though it would get warm in those tender places she still went back for her treatments. It is very important to keep your appointments and because my daughter has PCOS she is requiring more treatments then shall we say a “normal” person. Hope things go well for you!!

I had laser hair removal done last year. I did my under arms as well as my bikini. The under arm was a touch painful, but well worth the results. The bikini area was a whole other story. Very painful, but still fairly happy with the results. Pain is beauty. Right?
