I have to warn you that this tutorial is addictive, those Easter basket are so easy to make that you barely can’t stop. You just need a thin cardboard sheet, some dessert disposable plates and a glue gun. The fun part is that you can decorate your basket the way you like. Here I spray painted the basket bottom with bright color, but you can also add some flowers, stickers or write your guest’s name on it .
Let’s start by cutting 7 strips in the cardboard sheet, which dimensions are 15 inches x 1.5 inches. We make small baskets using dessert plates, but you can give a try with regular disposable plate. In this case the stripes must be longer.
Use a glue gun to fix the stripes on the back on the disposable plate.
Place them to fully cover the plate.
Flip the plate and fold the strips towards the inside. Cut a thinner cardboard strip (1 inch x 22 inches) and glue the two ends together to make a ring. This cardboard ring must be the same size as the plate.
Glue the stripes, one next to the other, inside the ring to make the basket edge.
Glue the last strip, to make the handle, on each side of the basket edge.
Fill the basket with newspaper and spray paint the bottom. Once the paint is dry, take the newspaper off, and put some foam or grass filler in it. And you are ready for the Easter Egg Hunt. Have fun!
