Homemade Sloppy Joes Recipe from Erin at Mr. & Mrs. Toews

Homemade Sloppy Joes


  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 tsp. brown sugar
  • salt & pepper to taste


  1. Brown the beef with garlic & onions
  2. Drain the grease
  3. Mix in ketchup & brown sugar
  4. Season to taste
  5. Reduce heat & simmer for 30 minutes
  6. Serve with your choice of bread.

I chose hot dog buns, because that was all we had. You could do sandwhich bread, croissants, or your own homemade rolls.)
