Helping Our Schools with Tyson Project A+

It wasn’t all that long ago that the boys were new little students just getting started on their education. How we ended up here in the third and fifth grade completely blows my mind. Where has the time gone? Where are the sweet, tiny boys who still said “hi” to each other in the halls? Now it’s all “I don’t know you!” Like everyone they are growing up and like every thing they are changing.

Luckily the boys have a great school. And I should know… it’s the same school I went to and graduated from. And it’s pretty awesome to walk through the halls of their school and know exactly where to go because I walked those same halls. Granted the school has gotten bigger and there are additions to the original school that means I hardly know every square inch of the place anymore,it still feels an awful lot like being transported to being a kid when I go inside.

For Thanksgiving the school does a special meal where you get to eat with the children in your family in the cafeteria. A special meal is prepared, and if you’re thinking turkey and dressing is what graces those plastic trays you’re dead wrong. The last time we got fried burritos smothered in chili and queso. I’m pretty sure that none of those foods ever showed up in my Thanksgiving education in elementary school but it’s the thought that counts I suppose!

Did you see it? Make fresh salad wraps with Tyson® Crispy Chicken Tenders that are so tasty the kids will love them AND so easy they can make them on their own!

That cafeteria is the very same as it was when I last sat and ate in that room as a student back in 1992. The very same. Except that these days the school system seems to be getting a bit better about giving the kids the nutrition they need at lunch time. And that’s good because I want these kids, and every other for that fact, to be eating as well as they can every time they dine. They need veggies and fresh foods and healthy variety.

I guess that is why I am so stoked about The Tyson Project A+™ because as a family we can purchase foods the boys love, collect the labels and turn them in to help the school get more funding for their cafeteria program. That means that our school, and your school, too can earn money that is needed to give kids access to better and more nutritious food.

Look for the packages of Tyson® Fun Nuggets, Tyson® Chicken Nuggets, Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips and more with the The Tyson Project A+™ logo on them at Walmart, clip the labels and turn them in to your school to add to that cafeteria piggy bank! Not sure what you’re looking for? Visit the The Tyson Project A+™ website to see exactly what you’re looking for and learn more about what’s going down.

Visit the site and look for our school. Don’t see your it? If not it’s no problem at all! To register your school click the ‘Enroll Now’ button and fill out the info. Start collecting labels and let everybody know that they can do the same to help out. Can you imagine how many labels from Tyson® products that could be collected from each child in a single class alone? A ton!

Want to know exactly which products to look for and feed your family well while collecting labels? You can find that info out too by visiting the site and clicking participating products. Boom!

And what an easy supper Tyson® helps you out with. Heat as directed, bust out some veggies and fruit to round that meal out. Tasty and good for you. The kids won’t even realize they are eating well. I know you do your best to feed your kids a nutritional and healthy diet at home and now you can help for the same at school!
