When I was a kid I was terrified of cats. Seriously. TERRIFIED. My grandmother was worried I’d get ringworm and knew that I would cuddle absolutely anything with fur so she told me that every cat in the world had ringworm and that it would give me a nasty rash on my face that would never, ever go away. And cats always, always scratch, she told me, and if they get you in the eye you’ll go blind instantly. She was entirely successful at making sure I never contracted any illness via feline because when I saw one I’d quickly turn and go the other way.
But then one day I moved and lived with a cat that wasn’t my own. He was, quite possibly, the laziest cat on the planet and he LOVED me. And I was terrified of him. During those first weeks I’d wake up with this fat, orange cat wrapped around my head and all over my pillow. Upon waking freaking out would always commence. But then one day I realized that this guy was pretty cool. In fact, I really liked him. No. I LOVED HIM and bought him toys and fancy foods and decided we were going to be BFFs. And that, my friends, is how a crafty cat lady is born :)
It’s been 12 years now since I’ve seen the light and I now have 3 cats myself because cats are awesome. I love ’em. They’re the perfect, natural answer to vermin issues which is so fab as somebody who has lived in areas plagued by snakes and field mice. Plus they are fuzzy and cuddly and it has been scientifically proven that the sound of their purring can be beneficial to their human’s health.
But kitties do what they want, when they want, and apparently my kitties want to be doing whatever on my kitchen counters all. of. the. time. Ew, right!?! The surfaces where I prepare food daily are constantly mucked up my kitty paws. Oh, who am I kidding? The counters where ROB prepares food is constantly dirtied under cat feet :)
I love Green Works
because I haven’t figured
out how to train cats… yet.
So one night I was knees deep in dirty laundry and of the mind to knock that business out but I ran out of detergent. Deciding I always need a new tee or two from Target I headed out that way and did my usual hour long circuit of the store where I look at pretty much everything and come home with half of it :) We use cleaning wipes around here like crazy because every time we go to make a sandwich or a cup of coffee we have to clean the counter-tops to remove any nasties that have been transferred via kitty feet. We’ve always tried to stay away from chemicals when possible and when I saw the Green Works wipes and read the packaging I was sold.
98% naturally derived, Green Works is powerful enough to clean grease, grime and dirt but it doesn’t leave any residue behind and not so much as the slightest trace of chemical smell. Green Works can be used all over the house and comes in wipes (fabulously convenient) and an all purpose spray for the more serious cleaning jobs. And when the cleaning is done the wipes are compostable. How nifty is that? Being so awesome and natural and, as it just so happens to be Earth Month, I think it’s the perfect time for you to grab your own bottle of all purpose spray or canister of wipes from Green Works. My guess is you’re going to LOVE them. And it’s a super easy and simple change that is better for the environment. You gotta love easy and incredibly beneficial.
So why do I personally love Green Works? I love Green Works because I haven’ figured out how to train cats… yet. :) Head on out to Target and snap up your wipes or spray in the cleaning section AND hit up this Cartwheel deal to save 20% at Target while you’re at it.
