Easy Faux Fur Embellished Shoes

November 5, 2017Sheri Pavlović

Colourful faux fur is absolutely everywhere this season and I have my fingers crossed that my thrifting karma brings me a fabulously fluffy, bright and cozy jacket or vest soon! In the meantime I’ve come up with a quick and easy DIY to satisfy my faux fur cravings.

Sort through your footwear collection and transform a pair of boring flats into an adorably quirky pair of conversation starters with my Easy Faux Fur Embellished Shoes tutorial!

I scored this pair of perfectly plain sneakers at a recent clothing swap and knew I could liven them up in no time!

I sorted through my stash and grabbed a few possible bits for embellishing – all of them would have been fab but I decided to go with the faux fur as I had just enough to cover the front of the shoes making this a completely no waste refashion, hooray!

To create your own pair of quirky shoes you’ll need, plain shoes, faux fur, scissors and strong all-purpose glue.

Decide where you’d like to embellish your shoes then cut the faux fur to size.

Apply a very generous amount of glue to the back of the fur pieces.

Clothespin the fur in place making sure the corners are securely clamped.

I also popped some heavy books onto the front of the shoes to hold the fur in place then allowed the glue to dry and set completely overnight.

One the faux fur is secured and dry go ahead and pop them on!

An absolutely perfect result that looks fantastic with my mohair cardi!

Here’s another super simple no sew update for a pair of less than stellar lace-ups:
