Hey ya’ll! Summer is kind of winding down into fall now and I am super stoked. This heat has been outrageous and it finally drove me to cutting my hair super short again! That’s where today’s project comes in; since I can’t just throw my hair back into a ponytail anymore to keep it out of my face I came up with a DIY solution! A 10 minute sewing project that you can change out any time you want to spice things up! Learn how to make your own below!
- Fat Quarter
- Matching Thread
- Sewing Machine
- Marker or pen
Step 1: Draw out a house shape on your fabric (a pentagon), with really short sides. You’ll see in the next picture below what I mean. My long side was 15.5 in. and the short sides were 3/4th an in, the two lines that meet in a point ended up being about a foot.
Due to me not feeling too photogenic today, my good buddy, Yolonda the disembodied head, is standing in for me in the modeling department.
This band is super comfortable and keeps my hair nice and tidy when I need it out of my face! If you want to know how to make the headband itself that I used you can check out this tutorial. If you want to make more hair accessories maybe you’d be interested in my Golden Antler Barrette.
Til Next Time!
