Not going to lie… right now my house is less than super clean. Heck, it’s pretty darn bad, really. With packing up boxes and repainting the house so the new owners have a lovely new space and all of that fabulous junk cleaning has taken a bit of a back seat. I mean, think about it, I only have to paint the laundry room once but I’m going to have to vacuum the living room rug over and over again. So right now I’m just not vacuuming the rug until I get absolutely disgustingly fed up with it :)

The whole deal has been a weensy bit stressful. I’m a neat freak and a germaphobe and knowing that my living space isn’t up to my usual standards really does bother me. I just don’t have the time to do a whole heck of a lot about it. Things had hit a critical point before, completely over it all, I went around the house like a complete loon picking up and reorganizing and scrubbing. To say I had a pile of dishes to be dealt with is an understatement.

I don’t like doing the dishes. We all have those things around the house we absolutely DREAD. Mine is dishes without a doubt. Now I’ll vacuum all day long. Heck, I’ll even head over your house to vacuum yours for you. It just doesn’t bother me. But dealing with the bazillion dishes it took to fix supper and then eat it just totally makes my eyes roll back in my head.

So I have this crazy stack of dishes, some of which have been previously cleaned off but most of which are straight dirty with bits of food still lingering. Nasty, I know… And this is why I am a big, big fan of Finish® revolutionary Powerball® to help keep my dishes clean because it’s a pretty amazing deal. Straight up when things are hectic and I’m not getting to the sink after every mean, when I finally do get around to scrubbing up that sinkful sometimes things are left behind. Bits of food and the like that I just don’t seem to notice as I’m dejectedly scrubbing. You see with lots of detergents I’m finding that stuff stays on my dishes and just becomes harder and crustier. It may just be a dot here and there but it’s still completely grody. (Remember that word, grody? I miss it. So descriptive!)

But with my Finish® revolutionary Powerball® I can still have those little things here and there I accidentally missed but when the dry cycle is over and I bust those dishes out to put them up there’s not a nasty thing on them. That saves me so much work and headache! And I’m totally lying about something… even when life is easy and the house immaculate, there are always clean dishes in the dishwasher because I equally HATE unloading the thing. So, yeah, maybe I don’t exactly put them up all of the time! Plus since I’m only washing each load a single time because it works the first time I know that I’m getting a really good value.

I like to buy the good stuff at Walmart and as it just so happens I have a bit of a deal for you…  Buy Finish® and Jet Dry® at Walmart and save big with Ibotta. Try out Finish® Max-in-One or Finish® Jet Dry® and earn a cool buck. Yep, on Finish® Max-in-One with 23 inside you’d normally pay $4.93 but you’ll get it for $3.93 OR for $2.97 you can get your  Finish® Jet Dry® but with your savings it will only be $1.97. That’s truly is one heck of a deal considering you’re never going to have to rewash your dishes because your dishwasher is going to do the dirty work scrubbing off nasty baked on stains (trust me, people, I truly should know!)

I know how you feel Allison. I just can’t feel at rest when I know that there are chores to be done and that things in our living space are less than perfect (by my standards). Being a perfectionist, this can cause quite a controversy with some of my family members as I’m always going behind them to “re-clean” what they supposedly already cleaned. It’s just how I am. I think I mentioned in another post at how I can’t stand to have hair on the bathroom floor. It creeps me out for some reason. Always has since I was a kid. So I’m constantly going through with my cleaning rag to wipe up any possible loose hairs that may have fallen to the floor. And while I like to keep my bathroom spotless, other areas that are targets on my cleaning frenzy are the carpet and coffee tables. I like to keep our carpet crumb free (mainly because I don’t like feeling little “crunchies” when I walk through our apartment barefoot) and our tables free of dust. I probably spend a fortune on furniture polish and Windex, but it’s totally worth it because I have them tables shinin’ like mirrors!

Hahahaha! And it sounds like you share the same animosity for doing dishes as I do! I absolutely HATE doing dishes. Period. While my other chores allow me to at least move around a little, doing the dishes allows for no such movement. I’m just standing there, scraping away at all the food debris that have stuck to the plates and pans. Big fun, right? But I’m with you with the vacuuming Allison. I’ve always liked doing that chore, even when I was little and I would help my grandma with the vacuuming at her house. She would have the original Kirby vacuum cleaner (the ones that were made out of steel, like from the 1960s instead of plastic like the ones today) and I would use the little Hoover vacuum that she had. :) I don’t know why. I just thought that it was fun to do! And I liked helping my grandma out. :) I don’t even mind moving furniture around when I do it (and yes, I sweep under couches and tables and not just around them. The dust doesn’t go away just because it hides under the sofa! ;)

But hey, I’ll come to your house and vacuum Allison. I’d totally do it just for the fun of vacuuming! :) I know. I’m weird sounding for enjoying something like vacuuming and dusting, but I like things clean. I just feel better when I finish and see that everything is sparkling clean and dust free.

But back to the dish washing. I must admit that I have never used a dishwasher. Wouldn’t even have the slightest idea on how to use one. We have one in our apartment but it is mostly used to house all of our special dinner dishes that we’re too lazy to put away. I’ve always been the “dishwasher” in the family and have used my faithful dishwashing companion, Dawn, for years. Hasn’t failed me yet! But this Finish that you’re talking about sounds pretty amazing! If I ever decide to use our dishwasher other than just a storage bin for extra dishes, I’ll keep this in mind! The price is right and I’m always looking for shortcuts to make the daunting dishwashing task less daunting! And hey! I haven’t heard that word “grody” in years! But it gets the point across, doesn’t it? :)
