How to make a floral banner flag

I like to change wall decor often. It’s an easy way to add a seasonal touch and it gives a little twist to any room. If you like having flowers around you will like this idea. Obviously fresh flowers are the best, but it’s not easy to have some in every room. Nowadays you can find some beautiful artificial flowers, you can barely see the difference with real one…except for the good smell of course. Today I will show you how to create a fresh wall decor using some pretty artificial flowers.

Material you will need: A piece a felt, some artificial flowers and foliage, silicon glue, a small dowel, some rope, a pair of scissors, a ruler and a pencil.

Trace the banner flag shape on the felt fabric and cut it out. The size of the banner depend of the size of the flowers you want to put on it. To give you an idea my flag is about 10 inches width by 13 inches high.

Cut the dowel 1/2 inch wider than the felt flag and glue it on the top edge. This will allow you to hang the banner properly.

Start by playing with the flowers and foliage to find an arrangement you like. Once you are satisfied, start gluing the elements on the flag. Try to create a foliage back ground in a first time.

Then add the flowers using silicone glue. Once the glue is dry, take your banner flag and hold it vertical. If some of the elements then to lose, add a few extra dots of glue to keep everything in place.

Attach with a knot a piece of rope at each end of the dowel to be able to hang your banner flag.

And done! Enjoy you new wall decor! If you like banner flags, you can have a look at this post for more inspiration.
