It’s been far too chilly outside to think about frozen smoothies at all, but I’m glad I gave into my craving and made this particular one to share with you all! Ground quick oats, dark chocolate chips, frozen strawberries, and vanilla Greek yogurt blend together and become a dessert-like smoothie that tastes like you’re eating Neapolitan ice cream for breakfast, minus all the sugar! This is an easy (and delicious) way to get a lot of protein, fresh fruit, and antioxidants into your diet and start your day off feeling energized and full!
(makes 2 large smoothies)
1/2 cup quick oats
1 Tbs dark chocolate chips + a few extra for garnish
3 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
2 cups frozen strawberries, slightly thawed
1 Tbs honey
1 Tbs chia seeds (optional)
Fresh strawberry slices for garnish
Add quick oats, chocolate chips, and cocoa powder to a food processor or blender and puree until it becomes a fine blend. Add Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, honey, and chia seeds. Process for 1 to 2 minutes or until completely smooth. Add about a 1/4 cup of milk if you would like a more liquid smoothie.
Distribute between two glasses, add a few chocolate chips and fresh strawberries for garnish and serve right away.
