Shout ends awful stains quickly. Begone kale smoothie stain!

I’m clumsy. And I spill things. And I almost always have a stain on my chest. I don’t know why of all the things I had to inherit from my father it would be his ears and ability to spill food on a freshly clean shirt within seconds of starting to eat. True I also got some of his logic skills and personality but those things didn’t bother me when I got dark green kale smoothie on my BRAND NEW shirt. Seriously. The tag wasn’t off of that thing for a few minutes before I was splashing green frozen goop all over the dang thing.

But luckily I had recently gotten a new bottle of Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover and I was standing in my laundry room taking care of business. I had two things going for me and I’m so glad that I can still wear this top without looking like a hot mess (at least until I eat again – ha!) – 1. I acted quickly. 2. I pre-treated with Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover (which means I actually could have waited for my day to be over before I tackled the stain but I was a bit upset and that’s why I handled it quickly).

I was so impressed with how well my stain came out that I was even willing to re-enact the offense and blasted myself a new green smoothie with spinach and kale and kiwi and mango and flicked some of it on my shirt. See! That’s pretty close to what happened the first time.

I removed the excess smoothie (oh, dang that’s a cute dish towel – stay tuned for the DIY to make that cutie!)…

Hit it with a quick spray and tossed it in the laundry to be continued…

And while that was going down I made some super cute stamped up boho dish towels that I can keep clean with my Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover. Boom!

Since I’ve recently started adding pops of color all over my home do you know what stood out horribly? My plain ol’ white kitchen dish towels. They weren’t just boring, they stuck out. So I made up for the lack of color with some bohemian inspired stamping!

For this project you will need:

  • Stamps
  • Acrylic or fabric paint
  • Plain, white dish towels
  • Felt
  • Sponge paint brushes

Make your selection of colors and put into a disposable plate or bowl. You don’t need a ton, just a small amount of each color works and you can add more as you go, if needed.

Now these are fabric stamps but there are others, like for paper, you can use just as well.

Place a piece of felt beneath your dish towel to act as a cushion for stamping. This will help the stamp imprint better than it would on a hard surface since the stamp can “squish” into the felt and push further into the fabric.

Sponge paint onto your stamp. Now I got super creative and made each of my elephants ALL of the colors of my palette and I have to say that I LOVE how they ended up!

Press the stamp down onto the fabric and bring it STRAIGHT UP. This is especially important because any movement to the sides will give you a blurred stamping.

Ah, perfect-o! Continue stamping down throughout the towel for some unique, custom designs!

Now to allow my paint to dry I made a temporary clothesline in my living room. Rather than worry about accidentally smudging my previous stamps, I worked in small sections, allowed to dry and then continued. I rotated between 3 clothes with 3 different designs. And yes, that’s a cat sombrero hanging on my throw ladder. Don’t judge :)

Now look how lovely those came out! But let’s see what happened after my shirt came out of the dryer…

I got most of the stamps at Michael’s from their boho collection. They also have similar ones at Hobby Lobby!
