I love friendship bracelets, but to be honest, I tend to feel a bit silly wearing them with the strings tied together. I don’t know why, perhaps it is because I see so many tweens rocking them that I feel way too old to be doing the same. But I LOVE friendship bracelets and I love their amazing, knotted texture. They’re fun to make and therefore fun to wear!
And one day I accidentally stumbled across an awesome friendship bracelet from the good people at Antrhopologie. It was very interesting and I liked parts of the bracelet. I did not like the pyramid studs or the price tag (ahem, fifty bucks is not happening) but I loved that it was part friendship bracelet, part chainmaille and wholly grown up.
And then one day these bracelets went on clearance for $7. Now that’s more like it! But unfortunately anything that cheap at Anthro isn’t going to stay in stock for long and I didn’t find it in time. So I decided to run out to WalMart (seriously within about an hour of seeing them I was all over making something similar) and copy their idea into something 100% me! Oh, and they’re cheap, too because that’s also a big part of me :)
