Color blocked wood bangle - Dream a Little Bigger

Today we’re going to make a quick bangle update for a cheap and simple pop of color to your wardrobe.

I absoluely love those everything is a dollar jewelry stores. Don’t you? A few weeks ago I snagged this wood bangle. It was simple and it was plain and at the time I liked that.

But though I liked it, I never wore it because it was, as previously stated, too plain. Today I busted out my supplies and decided to give this little fella a very, very quick makeover.

For this project you will need:

I decided to go full halfsies on this guy and taped off accordingly. You can also tape off stripes or geometric shapes.

Make sure your tape is nice and secure to ensure fresh, crisp lines and paint away. I went one color but you can always use more. After I had finished I seriously wished that I had painted the interior hot pink rather than maintaining my seafoam green color.

When dry cover with a coat or two of Mod Podge or other sealer and after fully dry, rock that baby out.

Happy Sunday!

Oooooh, I love this! The green looks so fresh and cheerful against the lovely grain of the wood…

Thanks so much – I was really pretty surprised at how something so simple could result in something that I'm so happy with!

What a great transformation! So simple and yet so bold. (And I like the hot pink idea…is it too late to add a few coats?

It is definitely never too late! Though I guess it was because I wanted to wear it RIGHT then on THAT day :)

Love it! So quick and simple and really stylish and cute! I know I've seen these wooden bangles in cheap stores in Japan, so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled and buy one next time! :)

I love this! So simple but it turned out great especially against that dark wood.

If you're interested, I would love to see it submitted in our DIY contest. ;)
