3 Amazing Coconut Oil Beauty Uses

September 17, 2017Sheri Pavlović

As I have incredibly sensitive skin and rosacea I am constantly on the lookout for lotions, potions and products that won’t cause breakouts or dryness. One of my greatest gentle skincare discoveries is a little something you may have lurking in your kitchen right now!

Check out my 3 amazing coconut oil beauty uses and tutes and see if they work just as well for you too!

Create your own non-toxic, natural coconut oil deodorant with 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) Baking Soda – as I have sensitive skin I used a bit less, 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) Coconut Oil, 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) Arrowroot Powder (cornstarch works too), an airtight container and your fave essential oil if desired.

Pop the baking soda, arrowroot powder and coconut oil into a bowl and mix until smooth. Add a few drops of essential oil and stir together. I absolutely love the fresh, clean smell of lemongrass oil! Pop the lovely mixture into an airtight container and enjoy your simply natural DIY deodorant – to apply simply scoop out a small amount and gently rub it under your arms. My DIY deodorant works better than any of the store bought products I’ve ever tried, it’s also long lasting, not at all powdery, leaves absolutely no residue on my clothing and, thanks to the lemongrass oil, smells phenomenal!

Coconut Oil gently removes makeup in a flash! I scoop out a small amount of coconut oil and melt it in the palm of my hand and then gently rub the melted oil over my face and eyes to loosen and remove the make up. Then I grab a cotton pad and wipe off the oil and make up. The front and back of one pad is more than enough to wipe off the amount of make up I wear.

Coconut Oil is an absolutely brilliant morning and night moisturizer! In the morning and evening, after removing my make up, I gently wash my face with a very soft, warm, wet cloth. I then apply a thin layer of coconut oil dotted and smoothed around my eyes and on the rosacea areas of my cheeks. It definitely prevents dryness, keeps my skin incredibly soft and even helps make up remain fresh and smooth all day.

Since I began using coconut oil my skin no longer suffers from dry areas and I’ve also noticed that my eyelashes appear to be thicker, healthier and don’t fall out nearly as often + as oil attracts oil it also seems to have had the added bonus of completely obliterating those pesky side-of-the-nose blackheads.
