The 20 year trend cycle has struck again bringing with it that most fancy neck adornment from the 90’s – chokers! These groovy accessories are making a huge comeback but there’s absolutely no need to hit the mall when you can whip up a bunch in minutes using leftover bits and bobs from your stash!
Sort through your lace, ribbons, fabric strips, bias binding and trim and create the upcycled DIY 90’s choker!
Grab a piece of lace trim or whatever fancy bit you desire for your choker, a clasp, a sewing needle and coordinating thread. (I simply used the clasp from a broken necklace that had been lurking at the bottom of my jewellery box)
Cut the trim to fit comfortably around your neck and hand stitch the clasp pieces to each end.
A surprisingly simple stash busting project with fantastic results!
If you’re not a fan of the 90’s choker trend go ahead and give my oldie but goodie lickety split lace necklace a try, it only takes 5 minutes:
