Photo Boxes into Easy DIY Medicine Storage & FREE Printables

Easy DIY Medicine Storage DIY + cute FREE Printables with Dream a Little BiggerSomething came to me very, very clearly not too long ago. I was at somebody else's house when it struck. An awful kind of ill that you don't want to happen let alone have to discuss with your host to request the appropriate medication. So what do I do? I sit there and suffer rather than be embarrassed and feeling better.

It's ridiculous and I know that I'm not the only one that does this. I also noticed that I, along with everyone else I know stores the household medicine in the master bathroom. So I decided to move it to the hall bath for easy and embarrassment free access by guests but I had a serious problem... a dinky medicine cabinet that barely contained Russell's hair products let alone a whole treasure trove of wonder cures. So something else needed to happen but on the cheap.

Project Planning Binder Tutorial & Printables

FREE blog planning printables at Dream a Little Bigger

It's been mentioned before that some don't understand how I get so many crafts done and how I can work up posts for up to 3 weeks in advance. My bloggy pal Lauren over at The Thinking Closet was very encouraging about working up a post to share my plan, so thanks, Lauren!

I really thought about how what I do works and I guess it is because I try to stay organized (which is no small feat for me, let me tell ya) and plan things down to the supplies I MIGHT need. You see, I have to drive to get to a craft store. It isn't just a 10 minute or 20 minute trip, we're talking at least an hour and a half to get there, run in and grab something and get back home. Now if I want to browse, we're really going to be throwing time away.

So when I am working on a project and realize that even though I purchased everything BUT the glitter to get this thing cranked out, it puts a humongous damper on things and totally jacks up my flow. You see I love, love, love to craft and that's why I do this. But since I want to do what I love for a living I have to be effective and get my posts out regularly and that is why I have devised an almost fool proof system. I say almost because I'm hardly perfect and even with a perfect list, I'm going to forget something almost every time!

Giant Faux Old School Label Tutorial on a Magazine Rack!

Magazine rack labeled with giant old school label maker style labels at Dream a Little Bigger.

My parents either never had a label maker when I was a kid, or they hid it from me. Which would have been wise. I did have a friend whose parents owned and used a label maker and when I found that sucker I used up every last bit of that weird plastic tape stuff up in it.

Normally I was very well behaved, but I couldn't help myself around this stuff. I'd label my toothbrush, my underwear, the dog, my left shoe, my right shoe, anything really. I'm sure after I left friend's mom would tell friend's dad that they needed another refill, and friend's dad would ask "why, did Allison come over?"

As an adult I've wanted one of these label makers, and I think that I've even convinced myself that it is a good idea a few times, but I've never purchased one. It's the same reason why I don't do drugs, I have an incredibly addictive personality. Now that I've likened a label maker to crack, why don't we just get on with the tutorial.

Custom Drawer Organizer Tutorial

Making a custom drawer organizer is so cheap and easy with cardboard. Dream a Little Bigger.

Doing dishes is not in my job description. I will, on occasion start the dishwasher but that is where my participation ends. Since I dirty the dishes by cooking, what I can only assume everyone else believes to be amazing  homecooked meals, I get to sit out on the pot scrubbing.

I am also the organizer. So while I will organize the most efficient method of storage for dishes, since I don't do them my schemes rarely get followed. Often it would appear that the inside of the cabinets exploded with bowls on two different shelves - the HORROR.

So one day I was re-organizing the kitchen because since I do the cooking and I cook like the chef on the Muppets, I need to get to my pots, citrus zester, whatever 30 seconds ago or else my gravy will thicken too much, the steak will be overdone, the chocolate will scald. It occured to me that I could buy one of those label makers and put little tacky strips everywhere to ensure that my gravy ladle goes where it belongs. I've been looking for any excuse to buy one, honestly so that is awesome.

But drawer organization is a total different story. The fact that my drawers that actually have bottoms in them are dinky at best and add the fact that absolutely no storebought organizers will fit and you've got a big ol' pile of spoons and forks to dig through everytime sup is on.

Colorful Mason Jar Tutorial at Mom Spark!

Make colorful mason jars with Mod Podge at Mom Spark

I've been working so hard to make my office/craft room livable and workable. I'm really embarrased to say that it has not be easy at all. To help alleviate the problem, there is an ungodly amount of blue transluscent plastic stacked from floor to ceiling and crammed with all sorts of crafty goodness.

My stash includes everything from the normal - glitter to the odd - the feet for my bed frame that I don't use because they make my bed too tall BUT they just might come in handy for some crafty thing some day.

Since everything I have doesn't warrant the amount of space a tub takes up, I've started working on a compact, green and inexpensive method for little bits and bobs like googly eyes.

Head on over to Mom Spark to check out my DIY for creating bright, gorgeous colored jars!

Framed Lace Earring Holder Tutorial

Organize your earrings and have a pretty display. Framed lace earring holder tutorial at Dream a Little Bigger

I am so proud to say that I am just rolling right along with my 2013 Resolutions. One of them was to decorate my bedroom before I get tired of the paint color and things are just peachy!

Some time ago I made a specs organizer and it has gotten a lot of play on Pinterest. Running along the same vein, I wanted to make an organizer for some of my prettier earrings. There are two reasons for this. 1 - since I work from home my pretty earrings don't get worn much and that seems just sad. 2 - I need wall art for my bedroom and what better to adorn my boudoir than my favorite and prettiest jewelry?
