Easter Eggs That Will Never Get Stinky! at Mom Spark

Easter felt egg pouches at Mom Spark by Dream a Little Bigger

Your home is your castle, right? And what you never, ever want pervading your castle is rotten egg smell. But there's no telling just how many of you fine people out there are going to experience such a thing a few days to weeks after Easter has come and gone.

This happened to my grandparents in Ohio and it has become a family legend. My Texas family also had a similar incident but it happened outside of my Mimmie's house... My aunt didn't realize that the eggs should be boiled prior to dyeing (she was probably 18-20 at the time) and when it got warm the garden would stink. It is pretty darn surprising the amount of stink that can occur in an open area!

So, since I'm not the biggest fan of the plastic eggs and sometimes real eggs just aren't the ticket, I made some really fun egg pouches out of felt. A  little slit in the back even allows you to fill them with fantastic goodies! Check out the tutorial and free pattern over at Mom Spark!

Pearl Collar Necklace Tutorial

Pearl collar necklace tutorial at Dream a Little Bigger

Every day at least one reader that comes here searches for "pearl collar necklace". After a while it started to make me feel sad that they were coming here and not getting what they wanted. So guess, what? That's right, I made a pearl collar necklace for all you Searchy McGillicutties out there.

Hugs and Kisses Garland - XOXO!

Hugs and Kisses Garland -xoxo- Dream a Little Bigger

It would seem for every holiday I have a favorite saying to accompany the times. For me and Valentine's Day it is, without a doubt, XOXO. It's short, sweet and cute which I think is absolutely perfect.

This garland will soon be used to adorn my mantle. But seeing as how it is currently the only lovey dovey decor, I'll leave a reveal until a bit more has been accomplished!

So yesterday, you may have seen my How to Cut Perfect Felt tutorial. If you didn't you may want to check it out before proceeding. Ready to move on? Cool, let's hit it...

How to Perfectly Acrylic Cut Felt - Tutorial

How to perfectly cut acrylic felt. A helpful tutorial at Dream a Little Bigger.

Cutting nice smooth shapes out of felt can sometimes prove difficult. Smaller bits are often even more difficult to work with than larger shapes. Either way it can be all around frustrating. I mean felt is cheap and all, but who wants to waste time and money cutting out sub par shapes that get thrown in the garbage bin in the end?

Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore at all. I was once asked "really? All of this to cut out a felt letter?" Why yes - please go back to minding your own business.

Shoestaches Revisited! - Mustaches for your Shoes!!!

Shoestaches! Mustaches for your shoes. Dream a Little Bigger

Today I am revisiting one of my favorite DIY projects that I have posted to this blog to date! Shoestaches are mustaches for your shoes made out of felt and they are awesome...

You may be wondering why I am reposting an old project... That is simple. Euclid left me abandoned at my sister's house, and while I prepared posts to automatically post through the day after Christmas, I wasn't counting on my ride not being able to get me home by now. So, please enjoy this kind of an oldie (originally posted April 16, 2012) but a goodie.

This project can be whipped out in about 15 minutes per pair - you will need:

Felt, scissors, matching embroidery thread, needle, shoes & laces, your moustache printable.

Word to Your Pillow Tutorial

How applique a word onto a pillow - Dream a Little Bigger

One of the things that I often get teased about is whenever anybody says simply "Word" or ends a sentence with "word" I have to add "...to your mother". What makes it worse than just an obviously dorky thing to say is that i have been informed that my voice while saying it is the wasp-iest voice ever. In fact, it absolutely irritates Russell, but while at first I had said it to give him a hard time, now it is a compulsion. I. Cannot. Help. Myself. Word to your mother.

Wanting a pillow in a chichi shop but not wanting to pay $50 for it I decided to make my own. Now, unfortunately I lost quite a few pictures from point A to point B so I'll pictorial this business as best I can.

While it is not also included in this post, the red chair that my homemade chichi-ness sits on actually started out life as a plain old oak kitchen chair. Left behind by a neighbor that kind of pulled a move in the night thing, I watched this chair sit in their front yard for weeks. There was also a nice outdoor bench that I watched a neighbor walk off with which steeled my nerves. Finally, under the cover of darkness I convinced someone, who will remain anonymous, to snatch it for me.
