I'm Digging String-Ring

String Ring

Now I'm not one of those people who is always trying to better myself through self help books and honest reflection. To be honest, I'm really happy with who I am... I am awesome.

But even someone who has confidence has flaws. I am awesome but flawed. So a while back ago, I stumbled upon the String-Ring and decided to buy myself one for my birthday. Not typically someone who buys gifts for myself, this was a big, big deal. But I liked the looks, totally dug the entire concept and loved the message of kindness behind it.

What you get is a silver ring in a size 4, 6, 8 or 10 that bends to accommodate sizes in between. You also get 20 little waxed cord strings to tie and a little pamphlet with instructions on different types of ties. You can use one color or two and they have significant meanings of reminders to the wearer. White (which is on my ring) means peace, life & simplicity and to remember to be kind to yourself.

If you're looking for a moderately priced gift for a girlfriend, bestie, wife, mother, sister or acquaintance - I'd really consider taking a look at String-Ring

I'm Digging Punjammies

I'm digging Punjammies.

I don't sleep well having been plagued with insomnia for about as long as I can remember. Everything has to be just so...  no light (except in my bedroom at my parent's house where there is tons of light which is odd), no sound and if not possible the white noise from a table fan, my sheets need to be clean and my sleep clothes comfy.

Whenever I find a pair of pajama paints or a nightgown that is soft and comfy I tend to buy up a bunch of the exact same style. I'm actually going through the inventory in my head right now of what I actually wear at night and I have three long sleeve nightgowns from Target, 8 short sleeve nightgowns from Target and 2 pairs of sleep paints from Target - all the exact same style. I have others but they aren't in "the rotation". While it may be boring, I know that I if I can't sleep through the night, it isn't because I'm uncomfortable.

When I was stalking around on Pinterest a bit ago I saw the comfiest looking pajama pants EVER. I pinned them and went on my merry way. When I went back to check these babies out I learned that they aren't just pajama pants, there a new start for someone across the world who really needs it.

Punjammies are a part of the International Princess (TM) Project whose mission is to "Establish self-sustaining enterprises in partnership with indigenous organizations that provide for physical, emotional and spiritual needs of women formerly enslaved in prostitution; AND advocate for women enslaved in prostitution around the world." Wow. That's heavy stuff, but it's also awesome.

I'm digging Punjammies.

Apparently there are over 2 million women and children in prostitution in India (yeah, I know, I said CHILDREN). That's 200 entering the 'workforce' a day, most of whom are essentially slaves held against their will. Punjammies give these women a chance at a new life with job training and an income, using local fabrics to sew pajama pants.

When I first went to the website I kind of balked at the prices, until I researched and found out what great work these pants symbolize. So, if you're in the market for some really comfy and incredibly cute looking pajama pants, head on over to Punjammies and see if these could be a good fit for you!

Recite This - Awesome Quote Graphics Made Online

make awesome quote art online for free

Making text or quote graphics can be a real pain in the rear. You have to find the right font, colors for the type and the background and then you have to figure out how to arrange them.

Even if you know what you're doing, you can spend an inordinate amount of time trying to work out the perfect layout. And not all of us do know what we're doing causing an even bigger issue. I know that you, like me, have seen some awful quote images that have been busted out. It's not because they suck - it is because this is hard. There is even a job for this: "layout artist".

Sometimes I want to do it myself and sometimes I don't and sometimes when I do it doesn't turn out okay. So, whenever you don't, won't or can't, I've found an awesome online tool for creating your images. Recite This.

Cross Stitch iPhone Cover!

Cross stitch an iPhone case! Dream a Little Bigger

Today's post isn't all lovey dovey in a traditional romantic sense. Afterall, what can be less romantic than a phone ? Perhaps the cover could be.

But the thing is, and I don't think that I'm alone in this, I LOVE my phone. That's right... with capital letters. After all, there is so, so much that a cell phone is nowadays. Besides the obvious, I quite literally schedule all of my work on my phone. My multitasking phone also is my: watch, alarm clock, cooking timer, main email access, Ebay and Etsy browser, quick internet search facilitator, social media keeper upper, Pinterest enabler, remote banker, music center, weatherman, weather alert radio (a big deal in tornado alley), and so much more.  I don't even have a home phone anymore, what's the point?
