***Somehow this post disappeared on me. The tutorial is a rewrite.
Wanna put a little bling on that thing? Of course you do! Turn a plain ol' sweatshirt into something fabulous with this sequin pocket top tutorial !
For this project you will need:
- Sweatshirt
- Sequin fabric
- Jersey
- Fabric glue
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
Take your jersey fabric (mine was cut from a $1 clearance tee shirt) and cut out the pocket shape that is approximatelly 0.25 inch bigger than the actual pocket you want in the end. You can use a current sweatshirt as a template or wing it as I did here.
Take your sequin fabric and cut the shape of the pocket about 0.5 inch larger than the jersey fabric.

Take your fabric glue and attach the sequin fabric to the jersey. Take care that you don't have a whole bunch of glue gushing through as it will make the sequins tack down and not shimmy. Allow to dry.

Fold your fabric inward until you just barely curl up the jersey pocket. Use your sewing machine to sew down the sections where your hands will go into the pockets.

Take the pocket and place on the front of your sweatshirt. Fold the pocket under and attach each side with your sewing machine.

And that, is all there is to that!!! You have a fabulously blingy sweatshirt!
