I've mentioned it many times before, but I live in Oklahoma. Good people but we tend to run behind on the trends. Sometimes considerably so. Case in point, sometimes you'll see a chick walking around rocking the up tall bangs that should never have been in style in the first place. Besides the amount of curling iron effort and hair spray that goes into those things, they're not attractive. On anyone.

When I was a young adult in my first home I was desperate to have a pretty garden. You see my mother and my grandmother both have gorgeous yards and always have. I kind of felt like to be a successful adult, that didn't mean just having my own home, but having a pretty yard, too.

I am a nut for True Blood. It is one of my favorite shows ever. Maybe it's because I used to be so into the books or because I tend to be a fan of any HBO series, but either way I guess it doesn't really matter. And guess what? It's coming back on TV tomorrow!

The very second I heard about Kumihimo I was online ordering a starter kit for myself. The. Very. Second. When it got here I jumped around the living room like a loon clutching my bubble mailer. I hadn't even opened it yet.

When I opened it, I jumped right in. The directions were on the backside of the product card and it was easy enough to follow, though I did get a bit irritated. In my set was enough 1 mm cord to make 8 bracelets. Russell and I sat down to watch a movie, me with my new best friend, Kumihimo disk, and got to it.

This coming Father's Day is going to be really hard for me and I've been having quite a  bit of difficulty getting into the spirit. You see, Poppa, my grandfather died on Father's Day last year. I spoke to him on the phone in the morning to wish him a happy day and was woken up by screaming about the same time the next morning.

I've been trying so hard to come up with fantastic Father's Day presents, but I just haven't been feeling it. I tried working out some really neat resin paperweights but they were CRAFT FAILS. Yep, all caps. I used up an entire large tin of resin $24, ruined a paperweight mold $12, and $10 worth of Legos and $6 worth of astroturf. That's $52 of failure right there.

In fact, one of the paperweights is somewhere in the half acre that is my fenced in backyard. I should probably get out there and find it before it's time to mow. Wouldn't that be a surprise to hit with the riding mower!

Yup, it will only take you 30 seconds to make an infinity scarf out of a t-shirt. I used XXXL t-shirts that I bought for a couple bucks at the craft store, but you could use any old t-shirt. However, the bigger the shirt you start with, the bigger your scarf will be. My XXXL shirts made really big (perhaps a little too big) scarves.

This gal is a crafty genius and I love her blog. I'm so happy to be able to introduce her to all of you!

If you've ever been to this blog you've had to notice my affinity for furry creatures. They're lovely and cuddly and do incredibly cute things but they are still animals that smell like animals. 

And while I adore them with every fiber of my being, I can't stand the thought of having anyone walk into my front doors only to do that nose twitch thing. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Even if your home always smells like roses and sugar cookies you've been somewhere where you have had the nose twitch yourself. Sometimes the twitch is accompanied by the look that says "ten minutes tops, this place smells like wet dog".
