My car is really, really important to me. I guess when you go through a rough patch where you lose your job and it becomes difficult to make the payments you really, really appreciate that you’ve continued to keep it. And while these days I don’t quite keep at as pristine inside as I once did, I still love my car and I try very hard to take good care of it.
The last visit with my nephews I was driving them all around town. We went to the movies and to the craft store half a dozen times, you name it, we probably went there. And when I got back home I was tired and just left the mess alone in there for probably a week. When I hopped into my car to get to town something really bad happened. A tire didn’t blow out and I didn’t run out of gas. Nope, I caught a whiff of something funky. But not so strong that I was searching the car like a madwoman… yet.
Turns out the little pipsqueaks left banana peels under my seats and they went seven shades of nasty, smelly mush. But I didn’t find them until several days later when I couldn’t even sit in my vehicle for more than a few minutes without gagging.
And that’ll teach you the smell of a car is really important! And since my car is hardly brand new anymore I thought it would be nice to try out PERK Vent Wrap. I’ve tried lots and lots of car smell goods, like that juice you shoot under your seats at the carwash (hello cherry scented migraine) and after that I was OVER air freshener.
Now I have used vent air fresheners way back when and they didn’t stay in the vent. They’d slip off and I’d find them underneath the floorboard when a bump in the carpet caught my attention. But these guys look different, more clip-like. You can just tell from looking at them that these suckers are going to stay where you put them. I was told that they have a StediScent – for fragrance that is just right (and not migraine inducing) and that they’re Invisibly Fresh. I which I didn’t really understand…
Until I put them in my car! The dark color of them and the shape fits right over a vent blade so that it blends in perfectly. It’s really pretty neat. Check it out!
Now it’s not like it’s invisible or anything but if you weren’t looking for it I doubt you’d notice it. Except for Russell who took it as a challenge and within minutes of jumping in the car yelled “it’s there!”
I was very pleased to test out the new car scent, golden vanilla and lush valley. My favorite was the new car scent hands down. But the lush valley smells an awful lot like clean laundry to me and the vanilla smells good without being a constant reminder that you could really go for a sugar cookie.
And with it being, oh, 9 degrees out, that heater has been going constantly and on full blast. I wasn’t sure if all of that air coming over the PERK air freshener would be too much, you know? But it really wasn’t. The car smelled fresh without being overpowering or migraine inducing.
All in all, while it’s been YEARS since I’ve actually used an air freshener (because of the negatives previously discussed) I think I’m a convert! With each package lasting about 60 days my car can be nice smelling, even on my budget! I really can’t recommend you try them enough! And if you want to try them out for free… well, I’ve got a little giveaway for you:
