Welcome back to Link It or Lump It #15. I added the tag line “an awesome link party” way before this sucker even got started and I’m so excited that it’s totally living up to that :) Let’s start off with a bit of news.
You may have heard of the Monday Mess series over at The Experimental Home. It’s a great little thing that Laura is trying to do. You see, we craft bloggers are not perfect though our photographs of finished projects and rooms may say otherwise. Laura’s bringing us all back to reality with her messy series and I’m proud to say you can check out the mess of yours truly over there. See for real what happens behind the scenes and the incredible mess I make in a single crafty day. I’d be terribly impressed with myself if it wasn’t for the fact that my room is, oh, at least 200% worse right this very moment as I write this post. But, yeah, head on over there to see just how bad things get. And maybe show to your significant others to show them how bad things can truly be, and how lucky they are that you’re the crafty person in their life :)
We’ve also got some great news in that Amy from Delineate Your Dwelling is now permanently down with the party! Yep, starting this week you have the chance to be featured on THREE different blogs – either here at Dream a Little Bigger, over at Two It Yourself or over at Delineate Your Dwelling. PLUS, we’ll be bringing back weekly co-hosts so keep your eyes peeled for that fun stuff going down. A weekly co-host position is a great way to get a little deeper into the party or maybe test drive a party before starting your own.
I’m pretty sure there was something else I wanted to share with y’all but I’ll be darned if I can remember what it is so let’s move this party right along…
Oh, but a quick word… If you want to pin these lovely projects or tweet them out to your followers, click through and share them from the original site. Give some love to those who worked hard on their amazing projects!
I can hardly believe it…
Yet another awesome week with some awesome links. Check out my favorite 6! Be sure to click through and give some comment love to support your favorites!
Lauren over at The Thinking Closet is one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She’s truly helpful, and I have no doubt is one of the more gracious people on this planet. So when she whipped up a paper bag gratitude garland, well, it just seemed absolutely Lauren and absolutely perfect. Check out the super cute DIY that looks great over a pair of double doors!
Aren’t those boxes from Amy at Homey Oh My super cute? I mean, I’d BUY some of these boxes and that green ribbon around? I tell you one thing, this girl has an eye for color. These boxes were once plain and simple and nothing spectacular and now they’d be the most chic gifts under the Christmas tree. Keeping this project in the mind tanks for some super cute gift wrapping in the new year!
Back in the good old days when I had a desk job one of my work friends took me to a cute and quirky Japanese restaurant over an Asian supermarket. There she encouraged me to try miso soup for the first time and I was in love. I’ve since eaten it at many restaurants and out of packets from the store but I’ve never considered making it from scratch… Until I saw this recipe for 10 minute homemade miso soup by Jessica on her blog Army Wife to Suburban Life. And. I’m. Stoked. Like big time excited. Oh, and be sure to look around. Jessica is super adorable and I think you’ll just love her!
So today one of my features comes from my co-host Amy from Delineate Your Dwelling! This “So Thankful” hand painted book page banner is ADORABLE and has totally inspired me to bust out the watercolors. You don’t have to be an artist supreme to whip up this amazing piece of Thanksgiving decor PLUS you can make to suit any decor scheme you might have. Though I do think the orange and blue is perfect! Head on over to see how to make your own!
Have you ever gotten a gift in a jar? They’re so cute and so amazing! And have you ever had homemade hot chocolate mix? It’s pretty darn great! This recipe and decorative method from Carrie Elle is too cute and a great option for any gift givers or recipients that might be gluten intolerant and can’t have, say, cookie mix in a jar. Plus, who doesn’t LOVE a good mug of hot cocoa in the winter time? Head on over to check out how to knock out some of these cute Homemade Hot Chocolate Jars. Extra points that this is one super quick way to make a lot of gifts!
You may not know that I went to college for graphic design and did that whole thing up until very recently. And I’ve worked hard to work away from design because I never really cared for it, but I do like seeing young designers come into their own. I also love keeping up with logo design, I guess because I know firsthand what a task this type of project truly is. SO when I spied this excellent logo design by Lix at A Classic Notion I just knew I wanted to share it with you. Is it kind of out of the norm or a Link It or Lump It feature? Well, yeah, but this is something great that was born from an imagination and then created from scratch and I think it’s great! Head on over to see more mocks and some thoughts behind the process for this Romeo’s Factory Logo.
There is something wonderful about a Christmas tree covered with ornaments made by children. The little ones I know love crafty time and last year at my sister’s house at Christmas we had such a wonderfully eclectic tree. My sister isn’t hung up on the matchy matchy thing that I am and so the kids have free reign. When I saw these DIY Wood penguin ornaments from Just a Little Creativity I knew that I’d be buying up some wooden eggs. The tutorial is simple and great for adults who want little tuxedo birds gracing their tree or as a kid’s craft. Check these DIY Wooden Painted Penguin Ornaments.
Now that you’ve seen my favorites… Check out the favorites at Delineate Your Dwelling and Two It Yourself!
And don’t forget… you have THREE TIMES the potential for comment love, social shares and featured favorites this coming Sunday, so link up!!! And be sure to share the love with your friends! Grab the buttons below to show you’ve been featured or that you proudly link up!
Share the love, grab a button!
The RULES – because all’s fair on my craft blog:
- Link anything you made yourself but nothing that is available for sale. (you don’t have to have a blog or site just leave that bit empty or link up your Facebook profile, etc.)
- Link back to Dream a Little Bigger to be considered for next week’s feature roundup! (you can grab that awesome button up there – hubba hubba!)
- Click through one or two of your favorite links and leave some comment love!
- Entries are randomly placed so that everyone gets top billing. I HATE when I get to a party late and my links get stuck somewhere in the middle! Well, that’s not gonna happen here, folks!
