Why hello there! I hope that you are having one amazing summer. I’m out of town yet again helping my parents get things in the yard squared away. Last month we planted 29 bushes. Big bushes. This time we’re doing the fun stuff. The little quart and one gallon stuff. Yesterday we planted 29 things and we’re heading out tomorrow for even more. I stepped into a big ol’ fire ant hill and that ended with me hollering and my dad spraying the little jerks off of me with the power washer (not at full blast, mind). It’s been a tiresome few days!
But while I’ve been off not being overly crafty and spending time with the ‘rents something pretty neat went down here on the blog. My thrifted gold tray was featured at Craft Gossip. Pretty darn awesome and ALWAYS appreciated! I was also pleasantly pleased to see that the blog has had its highest pageviews ever while I’ve been gone. Hmm. Maybe I should go on vacation a bit more? :)
I’m super stoked because today we’re heading out to IKEA which is basically my idea of heaven and then going to get some hard woods for some awesome (and not so hard, hopefully!) DIY projects. Which, to be honest, is the big reason for me visiting. Daddy has the big tools :) But I’ve chewed your ear off enough for one Sunday… Let’s start this link party, shall we?
Remember… If you want to pin these lovely projects or tweet them out to your followers, click through and share them from the original site. Give some love to those who worked hard on their amazing projects!
I don’t do high, high heels. I’ve got my pair of 2 inch business heels that I payed a gazillion dollars for back in the day of a good, old 9-5 in a real life office. They’re now reserved for funerals and important meetings. Very important. Otherwise you’re getting the Converse. And. to be honest, I only ever wore a pair of platforms in high school. They were awful and 70s inspired but I didn’t seem to notice. So I’m not really the type of gal that would take notice of a cupcake that looks like a high heel or something. BUT when I saw these high heel planters, that was a totally different story. These suckers are AWESOME and you can learn how to make your own at Do It Yourself Fun Ideas. You might not even guess at what this heel looked like before. The transformation is simply stunning. Fabulous DIY High Heel Planters.
I love taking something old and giving it new life. Especially when it’s something that might sit in the attic or the garage waiting for a use and inevitably thrown away. Or, at least that is what always happens with the popcorn tins I’m left with after the holidays. So when I saw this transformation from just such a tin into a dog food holder I thought the idea and the finished product from Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body was amazing and worthy of a feature! I adore Ama from Ohoh Blog. Her style is impeccable, her writing is fun and fresh and her tutorials always a breeze to follow. And though I’ve never been to her home partly because she lives all the way in Mexico and partially because I’ve not been invited, I know that I’d fall in love. And never want to leave. She’d totally have a squatter on her hands. So when I was flipping through the LiOLi links I was particularly drawn to these amazing tables, and then totally NOT surprised that they were by the very talented Miss Ama. These tables are amazing and I LOVE how she makes them. Be sure to check the post out! DIY Side Tables
This planter is far more traditional than the previous fabulous find this Link It or Lump It, but it’s absolutely fabulous, too! Can you believe that you can make this fab, gold dipped leg planter for $8? That’s nuts! And I speak as someone who has very recently looked at wooden planters. Check out just how Home, Heart and Hands knocks this one out of the park from scratch. Bonus points that Anna knows how to rock a nail gun like a pro! DIY $8 Planter
