If you pay close attention around here you probably figure I’m back home by now. But I’m not. Nope. My parents and I totally didn’t even think to check on flights before heading out to the airport on Wednesday afternoon. We get there to find out that my flight has been cancelled. Hmmm. And to be honest I was actually shaking when I was trying to check in because I just KNEW how awful flying with an inner ear infection is and guess what I just happen to have been rocking in my right ear so we delayed my flight for a few days anyway. So as you read this I’m still on vacay but *fingers crossed* will be home tonight! Even though I’m going to be right back down here the first week of June and I would like to have a little bit of time in my home during the find month of May!
So though I have a ton of stuff to share with you, including a super big thank you to one of the sweetest bloggers I know, I don’t have much of an update here except that below is my dad’s idea of a joke. It’s hilarious because it actually scared the bajeezus out of my Momma instead of me, even though he had shown it to her before so she wouldn’t open my closet door first :)
When I get home and get settled I’ll be able to properly give thanks and share the good news that’s been happening around DALB. So let’s get this party started.
Remember… If you want to pin these lovely projects or tweet them out to your followers, click through and share them from the original site. Give some love to those who worked hard on their amazing projects!
I totally love unique and different ideas and this concrete succulent planter that looks like a pair of hands? Well, um, I’d totally buy them so I’d definitely DIY them. DIY Fun Ideas will show you how to make your own pair as well as some other uses for them and tips for success as a first attempt craft fail is bravely shared! DIY Concrete Hand Planters and Bowls
I actually first saw this fantastic leather scarf from kraft & mint on Twitter and it was instant love. When I noticed that Ursula shared this fab project on Link It or Lump It I was beyond stoked! And now I’m sharing it with you. This is a really simple but super chic project. Even if you don’t dig leather, this can totally be used with a heavy fabric. I’m thinking tartan for fall! DIY Leather Scarf
So it may be cheating, but just know that if you make something for a cat it is pretty much a shoo in for being featured. If it just so happens to be awesomely functional, well that’s just a really great bonus. I love this project for several reasons. It’s easy, it can utulize scrap wood from other projects and last of all, it’s a positive way of handling the fact that cats have claws and need to use them. Doodle Buddies really rocks this one out and Naush has some totally adorable kitties! DIY Cat Tree Tutorial
So, okay, like, I totally love donuts. It’s nuts and since I’ve been gluten free my life has been a serious lack of them in my life. I am also a nut for cupcakes. So when I saw that Sewlicious Home Decor totally combined the two, my first thought was SINFUL! My second thought was GENIUS! So, so, SO making these suckers GF in peach and blackberry. Om, nom, nom. Homemade Jelly Filled Donut Cupcakes
I love, love, love cute little projects that cost little money and can be knocked out quickly. These little photo holders from Passion Shake certainly fit the bill. Use up odds and ends of wood from other DIY projects and feel totally green and upcycle-y. DIY Geometric Picture Holders
My mother and I looked at this pie for ages and decided that it looks amazing. We thought about the ingredients and the makeup and we decided that since we LOVE peaches and cream that we would be all over this pie from BeBetsy like ants at a picnic, man. Seriously. Peach Custard Pie
I’ve decided that my little rollie wheels under my bed are just always going to show. I put a lovely and overpriced dust ruffle around the bottom of my bed and guess what? That freaking wheel sticks right on out there ticking me off like you wouldn’t believe. I never, ever in a million years would have thought to fix this problem up by making fancy feet. This HAS to happen and I couldn’t be more happy that Elizabeth Joan Designs rocked this project out! Raise Your Bed If You’re Sure
Since I’ve spent the past, oh, 10 days or so in Texas I’ve been eating tacos like they’re going out of style. In fact, I had two today alone! Tacos are the best! But what could make a taco better? One that was a total fake out awesome peanut butter taco cookie! To be honest when I saw the little thumbnail in the link up from Hoopla Palooza I never would have guessed “hey, is this a dessert?” but boy how do I LOVE the thought of this. I know two little dudes who would also really dig these, gauranteed! Peanut Butter Taco Cookies (oh, and check out these cactus churros! – just wish I’d seen these before Cinco de Mayo!)
