I am so ready for spring break! It’s funny because I honestly don’t know if I was ever quite so excited about the holiday when I was actually in school! The plan is for my dad and I to work a bit on my bedroom makeover and then a whole lotta fun with the nephews. It’s amazing how I swore that I would never A. ride amusement park rides ever again B. ride a water slide C. play a game where you are effectively being hunted. But I’m totally stoked that we’re going to play laser tag next week. How much do kids change things? It’s nuts!
Now, I’ve got to tell you that next week I won’t be picking favorites, but you can still come here to link up your good stuff (I’ll be back in rotation the following week). I’ve decided that during Spring Break that since I have the support of my lovely co-hosts that I’m going to just enjoy being with my family. So come on back next week to get your links in, and know that the following week I plan to have TWICE the features to make up for it :) And I may be bad at math, but that’s EIGHT features and SIX honorable mentions!
But enough about me and my plans, let’s get on with Link It or Lump It, shall we? Are you partying with myself and my lovely fellow co-hosts, Amy at Delineate Your Dwelling, Sonnet at Soho Sonnet and Melissa at Two It Yourself? Then be sure to grab a button!
Remember… If you want to pin these lovely projects or tweet them out to your followers, click through and share them from the original site. Give some love to those who worked hard on their amazing projects!
Rainbow Mug Cake. I kind of feel like the name all this one needs. I mean it’s got so many things going for it. 1. It’s rainbow. 2. You make it in the microwave so it’s done in like 3 minutes which means quicker getting your sugar rush on. 3. It’s RAINBOW. If you’re GF like me, I’ve had good success with microwave mug cakes using Betty Crocker GF. And to my nephews (because the youngest reads this blog religiously) we are so making these this week! Check out the fantastic recipe Curly Crafty Mom and pics to make your own colorful cakes in minutes!
So when I was perusing the links I noticed a shampoo chair. Yep, a shampoo chair! I HAD to click over and see what the heck was happening here? Well, as it turns out this fabulous piece of amazing-ness by Dena over at Hearts and Sharts was a total miracle of amazing DIY. And if you don’t know what a shart is (I got THREE emails asking me the last time H&S was featured, Dena will explain it to you here). But moving on, you simply must click through to see the amazing before and after pics on this sucker. Making this even cooler, the back panel was replaced with Plexiglas so you can see the mechanism in this contraption. Totally in love with this Furniture Refurb: 1970’s Salon Shampoo Chair.
I have a black thumb but I love having potted plants. Up high, of course because I have cats and they are decidedly anti-house plant. Why else would they dig them up, tear them up or pee in the pots? But I can totally make these amazingly cute Glitter Terra Cotta Pots as gifts… And if their cat decides to pee on the succulent I carefully planted, that’s their problem! I love how simple this project is, not to mention, inexpensive. With all the amazing colors of glitter these days (do you SEE that neon yellow line?) you can come up with some really neat patterns! Get the simple and well written tutorial at Confessions of a Secret Crafter.
And last, but definitely not least, we have Homemade Light French Style Salad Dressing from Charlie over at Pickled Okra (who I adore BTdubs). I didn’t try French dressing until I was an adult because something about the color put me off as a child. Plus, around here we eat everything with Ranch. Seriously… pizza, chicken strips, bulls balls, you name it, we slather it with the good stuff from the Hidden Valley. And while Ranch is still Numero Uno when it’s time for lettuce lovin’ my second fave is French. I’ve never had homemade and this recipe looks like perfection! Sweet and tangy with a little bit of garlic which you can NEVER go wrong with. Head on over to see how to make your own bright red dressing you’ll totally fall in love with!
And I can’t forget to say thanks to an awesome co-host last week!
What was Becky’s favorite?
Oh, and I’ve decided that just four is too hard for me with your awesome links, so I plan to have three honorable mentions every week!
Were you featured? Grab a button!
And don’t forget… you have FOUR TIMES the potential for comment love, social shares and featured favorites this coming Sunday, so link up!!! And be sure to share the love with your friends! Grab the buttons below to show you’ve been featured or that you proudly link up! Share the love, grab a button! The RULES – because I took the time to write ’em up:
- Link anything you made yourself but nothing that is available for sale. (you don’t have to have a blog or site just leave that bit empty or link up your Facebook profile, etc.)
- Link back to Dream a Little Bigger to be considered for next week’s feature roundup! (you can grab that awesome button up there – hubba hubba!)
- Click through one or two of your favorite links and leave some comment love!
- Entries are randomly placed so that everyone gets top billing. I HATE when I get to a party late and my links get stuck somewhere in the middle! Well, that’s not gonna happen here, folks!
