Things are way different these days than when I was a kid. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I learned about the food pyramid as a kid but it didn’t really come into play. In fact, I actually had to Google the food pyramid to be reminded of what goes where. And I realized that there are a bazillion of them these days. Which one is right?! :)
I kind of do my own thing health-wise these days. Being Celiac I can’t have wheat and that really puts a damper on that whole lots of grains thing. I was trying to keep my diet the same with gluten free substitutes which tend to have a lot of sugar and a lot of calories. Putting on weight became super easy. These days I’ve been told to live a more “whole food lifestyle”. And it seems to be pretty good so I do the same for the boys when it’s time to feed them. I was told that I should eat things that are closer to their whole form, just in case you’re wondering what I’m on about. That means lots of unprocessed fruits, veggies, meats and I was told that dairy is just fine, too. So you’ll see me gnawing on a hunk of cheese, some turkey and some almonds for lunch and I’ll be quite satisfied.
One of my favorite things to add to our diet is yogurt. It’s great for everyone and we all need those cultures you find in yogurt. I am especially a fan of Chobani Kids® and Tots® because they are low in lactose, are gluten free, have those super fab active cultures and probiotics, use real fruit and veggies and contain nothing artificial. That means no preservatives or artificial colors or flavors. Yep, Chobani Kids® and Chobani Tots® is naturally good. So today I’m pairing a pouch of grape Chobani Kids® with a simple and healthy kitty cat snack. You might think that food so cute takes a lot of time, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Give me about 3 minutes of your time and give those kiddos you know a tasty snack that won’t just feed their bellies but also their smiles!
Starting off with an organic, gluten free, lightly salted rice cake place 2 slices of bananas and 2 blueberries for eyes.
Cut the top off of a strawberry and slice down the middle to create your kitty’s ears. Cut the very end off of another strawberry for a super sweet nose.
Julienne carrots straight from the bag make fabulous whiskers and keep with the sweet theme of the fruit.
Serve with Chobani Kids® to add healthy protein to this after school snack.
And this truly is one super healthy snack. Chobani Kids® has 25% less sugar than the leading kid’s yogurt and 2 times the protein. Yogurt is a good source of calcium and protein that growing bodies need. I’m partial to the Grape (what, I’m a kid at heart!) but the Strawberry and Vanilla & Chocolate Dust are super awesome, too. And while I’m not necessarily swayed by the Spiderman and Doc McStuffins on the packaging, we all know that little ones dig their animated heroes!
I hope that your littles enjoy their super healthy kitty cat snacks and I’d like to send you on your way with some Chobani Kids Savings. So be sure to click that link and get those savings!. So be sure to click that link and get those savings!
